Battering rams
« on: May 30, 2009, 03:14:16 pm »

Basically you make a character with much the same properties as wagons(but much slower) and give it the remove construction ability that the dwarfs do. will that work/ solve the invincible fortress problem?

Yes, but we will need flaming oil for the dwarves to prevent them from being TOO overpowered.

I also want to see some things like those huge tower things they use to get soldiers on the parapets.

And you can't eat them, either, sadly. Even though it'd make sieges so much more fun; dwarves lining the walls, drooling and carrying sharp knives and forks, ready for the upcoming meals.

Nah, nah. They'd be balanced because of their slow speed and long deconstruction time, but still forcing players to experiment with Crossdwarves and multi-level fortifications.

Hey guys, how about the siege rammers/destroyers have to damage the walls ( Combat Expand! ) to get through them?
And then you could, repair, or fortify the walls.

Siege Towers ( Large Moving Ladders )
Siege Bridges ( Large Moving Bridges ) ( Watch 'Doing Davinci' )
Battering Rams ( Moving Pendulum Ram )
Catapults ( Shot over or at the wall )
Trebuchets ( Faster Catapult )
Bow Catapults ( Compact ) ( Watch 'Doing Davinci' )
Siege See Saws ( Watch 'Mythbusters' )
Balista ( Big, Big arrow launcher )
Roman Catapult/Ballista ( A ballista that shots heavy cannonballs )
Dwarf Buggy ( Made by me ) ( Ask for a pic )
