Official Letter of Resignation
By Sonerohi/Kallev

Today, under an hour ago, I was headed to NorthPlowed to help activate the totem pole as the Lawspeaker. I trekked for maybe 40 minutes through Mordor, dodging foxes and boars, crossing rivers, foraging chantrelles to keep my hunger up. At one point, I had to consume my Loftar's Lembas, because I had no stamina and I was caught between a boar and a river. It was, at most, 6 tiles, and I had crossed larger rivers before. Unfortunately, the stamina boost from the Lembas lagged behind, and so I stepped into the river without the stamina I should have had. Rather predictably, my full change character of two months is now gone forever, with nothing retained by his descendant. While I'm not going to be a butthurt little bitch and demand my character back or anything, perhaps this could have been avoided if we had boats instead of cocaine.

Goodbye,
Sonerohi.
It also wouldn't happen if the devs didn't think that the risk in exchange for not having to go around a lake is your whole character.
You save maybe 30 minutes while risking up to 100s of hours.

Why do so many people go full change? Of COURSE you're going to loose everything. Remember, people, this game has insta-killing THORNS.

So then, EVERYONE: DON'T GET FULL CHANGE.
I don't really think that's an option.
Basically, if you play for 9 months at full tradition, you could have gotten the same LP reward as playing for 1 month at full change. Even if you were at the middle on the slider, you still lose half the time invested into your character, while being anything less than full change makes your time invested less worthwhile. Combined with the issue of being forced towards change with every slider movement, and there being no other way to catch up  to the best players, anything less than full change is not feasible.

Too late, it's already done.

Oh I'm sure one of you lemmings will find a use for it. Be it bears, thorns, water or liver malfunction.

Well, sure, you gain LP nine times as fast, but then you have to do it again and again many times over when you die.

Does Swampcrazed need silkmoths?  I have some that are going to die soon.

Just the Sonerohi part of me is perma-retired. I'll still play on Kallive once boats get put in.

Does anybody know the skill required for snuff?  I don't see anything.

-Edit  It's Militia training.

I'm making a game called "Innkeep!", where you run an inn set in a low-fantasy world and try to lighten your guests pockets. Forum topic here.

So, what's the current data on this? Anyone actually still playing? All I found in the old village was a note people were moving somewhere else.

For Totally sure it's still active! Check on the IRC.
In fact, I think there's a network of towns around the world that still hold true to old bottleneck. I myself have drifted away for some time, living in my own separate commune.

But if ever the call rings out from the mountain homes, I will serve my fellow Dwarves.

Heh, yeah, Bottleneck seems to have become low-profile. Wise course of action considering that gigantic sandbox castle kicking fest that's going on between Xanadu and Chernobyl. Bullshit, I say! The correct way to put such manpower to use is to create a newbie village with charterstone and all that. :)

Gonna check the IRC soon I guess.

Anyway, if the Confederacy of Bottleneck ever decides for a call of arms, I am gonna follow it. Even though I can't serve as anything but cannon fodder.
