It's not really a settlement so much as my own tract of land, considering my HUGE claim...

Also, I've yet to see any forest spawns in my forest...  not even toads.  =(  I hope it's just too patchy or something so far.  If it's bugged and forest creatures aren't spawning properly in player-made forests, then I'll have to wait until I have a solid section of forest before I can report it.

And no, my claim isn't the problem.  It covers only a tiny portion of the forest.

Goddam, it seems I cannot remember the username/password I used to register for their site. And with no real way of recovery, I'll need to E-mail the admins and see if I can get my info back.

Note to self: Find a username that does not contain a space and a period that not all sites accept.

Wait, you don't have a password that's the same as your user name?  Pfft.

Drat, could not peer into the user known as Toonyman.

Edit: Also, as few systems allow spaces and periods even fewer allow them in passwords.

im thinking of training up a few combat oriented chars for Bottleneck use...

kinda like "BottleneckMilitia#1" etc.

basicly chars that can be used to kill invaders without having to worry that someone is going to reap up the scents and kill off your main caracter.

what do the rest of you think?

It'd take a fair bit of grinding to get them combat-ready, I imagine. And then some more to get them decent ranging. Not sure if it's really worth the time. But hey, it's your time to spend, so go for it if you want.

Does Bottleneck have a silk farm yet?

Well, yes and no. There is no public silkyard, mainly because it's too valuable a target to leave out in the open. We do have several people, including myself, with their own silk facilities. I reckon that distributed production is safer from both thieves and griefers. After all, that business model seems to work well with steel. Besides, for both safety and fairness we're moving away from communism towards private enterprise, so making a communal silk farm would be regressive.

If you need the resources to start your own silk production, I'm willing to either sell or lend you some eggs (I currently have 14 set to hatch, and I'm willing to part with 4), and most other people will do the same. We did some talking, and the conclusion is that we should all put our whole first crop towards expansion, and sell or lend eggs to any Bottleneck resident that wants to buy. The more of us have silk op, the safer Bottleneck's silk industry as a whole.

Perhaps the best idea would be to make three or four at most and give them full tradition, making them virtually immortal...

If you die with max tradition you lose half and if you die with half tradition you go down to zero, so you'll have to grind it back up between deaths. I'd also suggest you give the steel weapons to another player when they go offline to stop anyone robbing them.

Ah, yay for wood block quantum stockpiles (AKA log cabin construction sites).  I don't know why I was trying to store them in straw baskets before.

Because anyone can walk right up and press "destroy"?
