Hate to burst your bubble, but unwalkable water being implemented would surely come with a new map, so doing that is pretty...  futile.

You sure? Why not just make it so water has the same feature as those ledges? The ledges are just painted differently with a resriction put on them.

Sounds like a good idea. We should continue expanding our cart fleet.

Anyway, as far as the list is concerned, will you be online in half an hour or so? I need to escort a new immigrant from RoB, so I can't add you right now.

Obviously I wasn't - had some other stuff to do that I probably should have mentioned when I posted.

I should be around the same time tomorrow as well as most of tonight if you're around again.

Because they will also want water that you CAN walk in.  And maybe some stuff in-between.

well not being able to walk over lakes isnt going to be the last thing they make and i doubt they are going to restart a map just to change the water, so there will probably be some middle ground where that island will actuall be an island.

Alright, folks who're still living in Bottleneck - I've got a Reek of Theft clue on my steel crucibles. They're roughly half-done, and still unstolen. I can't seem to find the trespassing clue, curiously, and the theft clue gives a 'Cannot be tracked from this place' error which (supposedly) means that his hearth fire is in a mine.

I'm thinking this is an alt looking to pilfer my stuff - which might be rather bad news - or is a more run-of-the-mill thief hoping to get lucky by nicking it when it finishes cooking. At any rate, it could be a threat to the security of the town.

Also, lost track of the Theft clue when I entered/exited my house. Anybody with a fairly high perception (30's +) might want to have a look-see.

EDIT:

To get to my place, just follow the south road out of bottleneck. I have a driveway and live next to Adam. My character's Owen Quillion for those of you who don't know.

If you guys are talking about those islands in that big eastern lake (sea?), they've been colonised ages ago.

According to the most recent maps, they are rather small colonies on their northern shores.

Well, the smaller island has been completely covered by a claim, and the northern one has at least four homesteads scattered around, so you can't really settle a polite distance away from the original settlers. It'd be just like if someone decided to start a new village along that road south of mine, ie very rude.

But foremost, the islands suck because they don't have cart access.

And I see no need to move away from Bottleneck, not after all the labour we've put into it. I say that our next town should be in the next world.

Update on our thief situation:

He's somewhere to the north-northwest. He was above ground long enough for me to get to the north end of the industrial area, then he logged out. He's also got fairly substantial stealth, as far as I can tell.

Well, it looks like I may end up doing some murdering.  Who would be able to keep me from being hunted while I sleep?

Or maybe I could just hire a ranger to do the killing, though they may not consider it "justice" in the same way that I do...

Edit: I changed my mind.  What I'm going to do won't involve killing.  But I -will- do something, and they won't like it.

Edit 2:  It's off altogether.  I kind of wanted to be evil, though, but alas.  Some other time.

Any fairly new players looking for help or, say, a somewhat experienced player that doesn't jerk it to how 1337 Bottleneck is?

Update on my situation - I'm currently settling a distance south of old laketown, by some road-in-construction. I think I'm gonna go merchant for now.
