I've just been attacked by FOUR FOXES AT ONCE!!! Luckily, the leather armor held, and the urn I was carrying made a great improvised shield. I was also lucky to have enough arrows in my quiver.

Killing and butchering a cow, then frying all the meat gains as much nutrition as a 4x4 field of wheat. And then there are sausages.

We eat more fox than cow.

Every day I kill about 10 of them and bring the meat back for sausages.
Except today, I also killed around 8 cows and shipped the meat home in a wagon.

Speaking of, we have 2 wrought iron, and the only use for it currently is another miners hat, which we don't really need, or a militia sword, which would allow me to melee foxes alot easier and cut down on our arrow dependancy. Hawkfrost... Dragooble... Voting begins now.

Sword: +1
Hat: = 0
Undecided:+2

Dwarf Hill is south-west across a desert from Clayshire.

At this point, I kill so many foxes and the occasional cow, that I can provide myself and maybe two others with enough meat by itself.

Thought I must admit, the bread helps.

Good thing I wasn't online then. Btw, the 50/50 chance of ore turning into iron is an exagerration. A full smelter of ore yielded only 4 bars for me, and that's at +2 industry.
