Dragooble, could you log in and confirm or deny the loss of the pick? It isn't in the chest so I think it returned it to you.

Hey Dragooble and Hawkfrost, great news. I'm trading with the Clayshire village and they offered us 10 iron for 20 bread. We have all the bread made, so the question is, Are two picks and a smithy's hammer worth it? I think yes, but I need a vote from one of you soon.

There's a thread on planting trees on H&H forum.

For wheat, just learn "plant lore" and "farming". Then you can right-click on the grain and select "harvest". This also drops a bit of hay that can be useful for making things.
You can then grind the grain at a quern.

Thank you once again  ;D.

Do it, food is easier to get than iron.

Depends on your alignment. If you have full industrial (like I'm going to), you have very little net gain from crops. Meat is a different matter, but getting bread and cookables is a lot harder for ironmongers.

Ya, but I'm the one of my group that has the nature spec. So I can grind out a lot of bread from our small field.

You need to dry them on a drying rack, which takes 8 hours.. After that, you need to build a tanning tub and a bucket. Fill the tub, put the dried hide in the tub, and put a piece of bark in. Then wait 8ish hours for it to tan.

Well then, that's one advantage of living in a group. My wheat is grown mostly for straw nowadays.

It's a lot quicker to scarf two breads than to take an hour harvesting and eating a whole inventory of apple.

Killing and butchering a cow, then frying all the meat gains as much nutrition as a 4x4 field of wheat. And then there are sausages.
