ToonyMan, stand up and look downwards at the screen at about a 50-ish degree angle.

That works great, if you have an LCD monitor.

Otherwise, if you have an Nvidia video card you can use the Nvidia control panel.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

I'm using a torch, I'm at the stopover house again.  How come when you go back on you start way back at the spawn point?

Woot woot! Finished my finery forge with 2 extra bars, got almost a whole inventory + backpack of ore to smelt. I'm assuming a pickaxe speeds up mining, and if so, is it worth the iron?

I played dead and the fox went away.  I'm thinking about making a little hut somewhere out in the wilderness by myself.

Or make some smaller settlements a bit away and have several people stationed there to handle steelmaking.

Well,so far I'm doing nice grinding off apple trees, building dreamcatchers and the like....but I have a question:if I build my hearth, how can I move it?Or if I can't move it,where do I find more of those "dreams" required for a new one?

EDIT:nevermind,found that one out
By the way,how safe is it to trek to the cabin before the main camp?

Not very, unless you have near 30-ish in your combat skills, I think it was. My camp is much safer for a newbie and help is always needed!

If you don't get lost, there's an extremely low chance of dying. There is a very good chance though that foxes will rape you 3 or 4 times before you get there. You need about 10 archery skill to kill foxes near Bottleneck.

But it's a drag to move your stuff out there.

Edit: Can anyone explain the health point system to me, and does anyone want to trade with me? I'm looking for 2 bars of wrought iron and I have buttloads of roast meat, bread, and a couple of apple pies to trade for it.

ToonyMan, would you consider joining my small village? We've got everything we need and it's perfectly safe, plus I can teach you all of the ropes. I like teaching folks things. How about it? If you're interested, I'll give you some easy directions. I'll even help you build your cabin!

Toonyman, my settlement has literally everything. I'll even go so far as building your cabin for you. I'm just that desperate for settlers. Foxes here in my area can be taken out in just a couple of shots with 2 archery skill. And we have a map to my place.
