i guess i can go down there now. before i do i'll make sure to get scout out some of the plant spawns for tea/grapes. also, will the sheep near our settlement respawn if we kill them? are they even still there? and how much does it take to kill cows in ring 0-1?

A flock of sheep can respawn as another flock, a herd of cows, a pack of rats, a single fox, or a rabbit from what I've noticed.  I've killed and butchered many animals right outside my house, but there's usually something living out there.

Hey, streamlining production is what the stockpile is for.

Anyway, I dropped a lot of butter there and there's also a nice amount of flour, so if someone feels like grinding on baking go for it. The stockpile could use more prepared food. I'd do it myself, but I'm on a quest to find grape vine seeds.

This stockpile you speak of...it is at the new colony or what?! I've been asking about if for two days now, I can't find it anywhere.

Yep, it's at the new colony, the Bottleneck or whatever it's called. It's right in the middle of the village, there's no way you can miss it. There's a fence around it and a runestone that says "Village stockpile: drop your extra stuff here". Are you sure you've been to the right village?

Yes, I am, I just haven't looked around much yet. Damn foxes keep sending me running for cover.

Everyone should know there is a herd of sheep just northwest of bottleneck right now!

Has anyone figured how to get beeswax? I can get honey just fine, but beeswax baffles me. I think I'm supposed to just right-click the hive, but when I do it nothing happens, no matter if there is honey in it or not.

As for sheep, shear than kill.

I think they take time to grow new wool, and by the time they do the server will crash and they'll be gone.

Just make sure to leave some meat in the stockpile for sausages.

Sheep arent that great for food.  You cant make sausages out of them unless you kill a boar.  And since foxes still send me running for cover, that doesnt sound like a very stable source of food.
mutton is ok, but sausage is better!
BTW im going to move the tannning tubs up next to the well and I built two new tubs down by the south well that Milaha so kindly built.
We must prevent a leather bottleneck in Bottleneck!
heh.
Oh, and the server is down.

They seem to take a long time to become harvestable.  The crashes don't help.  I DID see a harvestable one today, though.  I believe it was on somebody's property, though.  It was immediately obvious that it was harvestable compared to the normal ones, so you shouldn't be able to miss it.

...and regarding wheat, I just read on the official forums that not only do they help nearby wheat grow, nearby wheat helps THEM.  It goes both ways.

Oh, I harvested them for honey just fine. There's an animation with honey dripping out of the hive and it takes no time at all for them to fill in our communal field. But I don't get an option to gather wax. The worst part is, I saw someone else do it. Sure, now there's wax in the stockpile, but I don't want to depend on other people for my candle-making needs.
