Strange how before when the game crashed the site was inaccessible also but not this time.

Our server (A trusty old pentium 450mhz with a whopping 384 megs of RAM) had the hickup of death tonight, while running some backup routines, and nearly kicked the can. For a horrendous few minutes we suspected hard drive failure, but an early morning rescue operation has brought the systems back online. The server is well now, and the backup routines have been modified.

Before this, there were no backups of user, character or forum data. Now, there are. The recent increase in numbers of users, by orders of magnitude, we've been experiencing since being mentioned on, among others http://www.indiegames.com, http://www.tigsource.com and, last but not least, http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=36366.240, has meant quite a few new issues for us. We're happy to deal with those issues.

All is well. For now.

Another board I go to (nothing especially famous) is known amongst themselves for accidentally downing servers, too.

And I already mentioned the mention to Haven.  =P

I'd think this means that it's the game server that croaked (again), not the server machine itself this time.

Lost my house.  And I had unloaded my inventory into it.  No more bonesaw.

I do not understand combat.  Is combat working for anybody?

I grinded Melee Combat to 8.  I'm double-wielding stone axes.  I have Chop and Cleave in the 1 and 2 slots.  I bang on them.  Nothing happens.  I get no positive feedback.  I cannot tell if I am actually attempting to fight or am just standing there getting hurt.

I don't think you can plant flax. There is some hemp growing next to my house which can be used in place of flax.
EDIT: FUCKING ORANGE DEMONS!! I was about to get some wheat seeds but THREE foxes decided I had to die!

huh. i just found this weird egg in the desert area. it's kind of tannish with brown spots. it's called En d(square)lig id(square) with (square) being, of course, a square.

Their name translates as "A bad idea". According to their forums they are cows eggs...

edit to add, seems they're having more server problems.

I think, from reading the forums, that it's...  a cow egg.  Its name is literally "a bad idea".  XD

Also, Haven and I have decided that those aren't foxes.  They're landcarp.  Though we are in the middle of the foxpocalypse.

And I think it crashed again.  The fox is just standing there instead of trying to futilely move through my house to get me.

EDIT: and yeah. i noticed there has been a sudden outbreak of fox. it's a good thing i just learned archery. i can now defend us from the orange menace.
