Ah, what the hell? I log back in and I'm at the starting place again?

The colony is awesome, from what I've seen. Also, can anybody tell me how to talk without private messaging?

I can talk by just typing in the box on the top left of the screen. I'm just wondering how you private message people.

I think you just right click the person and press chat.

No idea.

I need to get Animal Husbandry, SO that I can shear a sheep, SO that I can make a Dream Catcher, SO that I can catch a dream, SO that I can make a hearth Fire.

SIIIIIIIIIGH. I don't have time for that! I have some grinding to do!
Did you get the dream from the chest in the beginning?

EDIT: Anyone happen to know where I could get some plant fiber?

Hmm. Well, turns out my router is incompatible with this game. Oh well.

I'm hoping the problem I was having isn't like your problem and was just some sort of server hiccup, or something.  I got to the loading screen a few times, but I kept being sent back out to the title screen.

Edit:  The server's back, and it still seems to be happening.  I guess I'll go ask there.

Edit 2: I restarted my router, and now it lets me in.  Grgh.  Blasted router.

Does anyone know how to rotate a construction they are placing?

And...  hum.  Did the server crash now?  It froze on me, and when I tried closing it and reconnecting, it said it couldn't connect to the server.

I got on, got 430 odd learning points, then it froze. I logged in again and was back at the start with no points. At least the dev team is trying =/

It's important to wear lots of face paint while you program. And you can type with your long Gene Simmons tongue.

It did and the server didnt save data apparently, we lost our 2 shiny new picks :( better luck next time i guess.

just checked, and we can pretty much build everything in the mining shaft, even houses and stuff. Maybe we should claim a shaft as our home :p with some creative mining we can even make some rooms. I do not expect that we will be able to do this for very long until it is patched.

...great.  My camp got erased, and so did my bread / extra torches.  At least I didn't lose anything too valuable, and in fact kept some stuff that didn't reset for some reason (bone saw, my XP)...

For the record, I claim the spot near the middle of the Bay12 forest, by that tree with the mushrooms.  My character's name is Julian, for future reference.

Besides the server crashes, this game is great. Feels like everyone in the colony is a single unit in DF, all doing various jobs.
