What are candles good for?

they last longer than fires and unlike torches, you can put them in your mining helmet to find your way while holding a mining pick.

type :lo every 300 XP or so if you're near home, logging out saves your character so crashes won't kill items on you and your xp. I learned the hard way by losing 1200 points D:

Do you have the candle making skill?  It is probably required for gathering wax

Everyone who wasn't on missed out on ZOMBIES!!!  Sort of.  More like sliding dead people.  The bug is getting fixed now, though.

Am I the only one who leaves the ctrl+c global chat open? Trying to hold a conversation via speech bubble is annoying -.-

We are all in IRC to get around that.  the ctrl-c chat is too big.

I would love to play this but... Massive slowdown for me... Anyone know what might be causing that?

Edit: Nevermind, I got it working wonderfully now.

Come on down to the colony Joe.

Getting Carpentry to build a Cabin than light a hearth fire now.

Edit: Alright guys, I am now officially apart of the colony. Woo! Cabin and Hearth Fire set up.

Edit2: Set up at the OLD colony. Might as well also grind a bit, and make some equipment.

Hey guys, we just got our first visiting dignitary.  He is the mayor of a village near the big lake, named wanderer.  I think we need to appoint a representative.  Maybe a broker, or a trader.

Future brought him to talk to me, but I think they confused me with Goran. hehe.

Anyone want to sponsor a return delegation?

What did you talk about? Any trading opportunities?

Anyway, I'd hate to take any official position, but I don't mind walking. So somebody else please volunteer to be our trade representative, and I'll be the pack mule :p

Also, some status update on Bottleneck. The communal field is producing wheat faster than we can harvest, and our beehives are full to the brim. So food situation should be good, as long as we catch the time to mill flour and bake bread. Next project is a communal tea field, to keep our miners going. After that we're looking into a hops field. We've also got plenty of beeswax to make candles for our miners, but we need more yarn. The plan is to provide everything the metalworkers need to keep working without interruption, and in turn they should make us plenty of tools and armour, maybe even for export.
Also, I must apologize for stealing somebody's iron ore. I mined as much as I could, but it still wasn't enough to fill the smelter. So I took the ore from both smelters to make one full batch. Unfortunately, I got only one bar, and I used it to make a communal saw (it's in the mine toolbox). I hope you guys will forgive me when the tea starts flowing (there's already some, check the stockpile and the basket by the mine). I just felt that it's a waste to use bone saw on our limited trees, so I made us an iron one.
