Is the server down or what? I try to log on and it says "Couldn't find server" and gets me to the login screen. When I try to log in it crashes. This is like none of the previous server crashes, so I'm wondering if it's something on my end.

Their DNS is messed up.  It's not resolving at all.

So new people can't connect to the site.

But people who are already connected are able to keep playing.

Too bad I logged out because I wanted to save my possessions.

Edit: If there is a Windows way to list current network connections, we could have someone look through that list for an active UDP connection.  (There is probably only one.)  Then we could get the IP address from that info, and go to the machine manually:
    http://_ip_address_here_/portal/autohaven

But I don't know a way in Windows.

Oh, Jorb just posted.  Jorb, can you give us the IP address?

Another edit: Sysinternals' Process Explorer can list network connections for a process.  So if someone still connected has it, they could select the Java process and get Properties and go to the Network tab and look for UDP connections and uncheck resolve names and post the IP adddress.  But I doubt anyone will.  (Prove me wrong!)

The game itself is working. The website is down. As such, the JNLP doesn't work so you can't log in, but if you're already logged in you're fine as long as you don't log out.

Edit: Oh! x517A5D beat me to posting about it, and, oh, it's really their DNS being FUBAR? Maybe they're moving the webserver or something.

Our DNS server is down due to a power out.

if we can get the ip address the folder c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc has a file named "hosts" (no extension) which contains a mapping of domain names to ip addresses.  Putting an entry in there for the haven and hearth domain name would allow us to play on until dns was fixed (then it would have to be removed

I am playing right now. If you use the :lo to logout you can still log back in.  (I use it to teleport back to my homestead all the time)

I still don't get combat.  Just how strong do I need to be to take out newbie foxes, or are there special steps I have to take?  From what I can tell, all my attacks are missing.

My melee combat is at 5, with the requisite basic skills.  Unarmed is at 1, but I don't know why that would matter, since I'm attacking with my stone axe.
