What's the status of our village? I'm creating a small, temporary (though I expect it will be reinhabited later on due to its position) settlement at the large convergence of rivers on the southwest edge of the RoB island. I think we should all move to the mountains once boats/bridges are implemented.

I'm gonna dispel a few rumors here:

First, 80 CON is hardly necessary. Nil's gotten across several rivers with about 50 CON with no trouble whatsoever. I've yet to touch the god-forsaken water of death myself, but I'm fairly confident in a non-lagging scenario I'd be fine. Still, you'd be well advised to avoid the skill if your CON is low, your connection is bad, or you have extreme paranoia.

Second, rustroot is found everywhere, at least around the forests - it's just a fairly difficult Exploration check. Not only that, we've already got a mine set up and metal flowing freely. They seem to be sufficiently rare to be a bit of a headache to find, too.

Third, Hamel and Niltrias are the ones with inviting powers, and unfortunately neither seems to be around at this exact moment, though that's subject to change.

Fourth, IRC IRC IRC! Especially people looking for invites since they'll probably be more timely that way.

Fifth, we're fairly certain we're going to set up on the island a bit north of Swampcrazed if we set up anywhere new, and we're likely going to wait for the next supergrid to the east to be manually created before we pull up roots and completely abandon our current position.

Sixth, we really don't need to worry about boats or bridges - we've got plenty of swimmers to create an idol and abuse teleportation if we want to set up somewhere not very accessible.

Oh and finally, our forums are another place to check if you have no idea what's going on, though we haven't got a whole ton on them yet.

I'm not gonna ask for specific details, as you probably want to keep the secret for your village.
I'd just like to know about the frequency of minepoints and if they can be found on any terrain tipe.

A mine was one of my main priority to pick a site and settle down, but I lost my pg (perfectly fit to swim over most rivers) in a lag spike in the middle of a river. So now I'm a very long way from being able to find some rustroot and prospect (had 30 exploration before death) and I have to settle "blindly".

I heard rustroot needs a combined perception+exploration of 125 or more to be found. Not sure if this is true, but I'm sure it does need some high exploration, higher than, say, 50.

In fact, you need your PER*Exploration to equal 4000 or so, best if it's 5000. That works out to 64 each.

I'm having a slight problem. I'm trying to build a wicker basket, I have 10 branches, but it says I don't have building material.

Well, I've started up a small homestead on a small peninsula I found.  I don't have much, but if you guys manage to stop by, feel free to make yourself at home.  I'll look into modifying the map to show where I am, and I do know where I'm at on it, but it'll take me a bit.

Edit: Just went on a quick trek and got wheat seeds, carrot seeds, a female silkmoth, and a piece of wool for my dreamcatcher.  I also currently have some hops as well.  When I can afford it, feel free to come up if you need any of those seeds, or possibly even the moth.

Also, both the game and the website are down, so I'm not going to be making any maps any time soon.

Edit 2: Fuck it, if you actually want to come up to my place, let me know, I'll just escort you up.

What kind of stuff do we have in Swampcrazy? Is there any hope of a mine there?

It looks like the river system connects Swampcrazy pretty nicely to Brogdor- When boats get in I'll definitely visit.

There's no mine near Swampcrazed, but we do have a mine set up that's regularly ferrying iron stuff back and forth. It's not near a river, unfortunately, but as long as teleportation is in it's sufficient.

Just found I'm very close to Swampcrazed. I'm at the source of the river, W-SW from your village.

Anyone interested in 3 silkmoth eggs?
I need a tankard and I desperately need some wheat seeds. Been looking for wheat for 2 days, but no success so far.

I can also trade the following seeds: tea, hops, poppies, flax, carrots, onions.

Guys the client won't seem to work for me, it just goes to a black screen, loads to character selection I choose to go where I last was and guess what!?!? It just goes black again and stays there. Also, I am pretty sure the place I was working on was overrun by one of the bigger settlements cause I was close to one of them. Is it too late to find some new land to settle at? Also, how often is the map reset?

I have no idea where I am. I just picked a spot to settle down. I'm near to either a lake or a really big river.

Use this to find out where you are http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=6081
I made the trek to Swampcrazed this morning and built my hearth fire, the name's Lothonus in-game.
