Guys, latest news from loftar in the suggestion thread (Item Quality?) says that the map will come with an item wipe.  We are going back to the stone age for a bit.  And also, dont forget that RoB in the new world is likely to be -- Chaotic.  Think every town forced to use the same spawn point.  Its going to be scary.
That said, since SW has been claimed, Ill scout NE.

 Gotcha.

So, if I may suggest, offering stat foods to our lower members to raise up their strength to take on the fiercer foes we shall face in this new land? I hear beer will work wonders.

Although considering the constitution I've got, I might just make a new character.

The forums croaked while I was trying to post this so some of it may be a little dated but meh.

Yeah, Cally got summon-executed. Investigation is in progress.

Was he? I went along with Kirkit to find the murderer, and Cally was supposedly killed on Kirkit's land. It seems to definitively point to Hussein in Westvale. (Or at least, a hearthfire inside his house).

Also, I'm pretty sure we do not get to carry any items over. They're implementing item quality, and that, according to loftar, requires a full reset of the items.

jorb mentions that they're planning to do it here.

Loftar mentions the item system being revamped here.

And goddamn, Niltrias beat me to it. At least I linked to proof.

I think we should definitely use a buddy system - we need to get a catalogue of who's roughly what combat skill and send people off in paired groups in different directions.

Also, I'll take straight west.

Shoot. This means finding new crops all over again  >:(. I have like, 40 unarmed and 50 armed, so I can fight my way out pretty far if I can manage an axe along the way.

Hmm, well then I suppose I should offer to help scout the great forests of the north-west.

My combat, at the moment, is a puny 10 unarmed and 15 melee; however I also have about 55k LP I've been saving up.  I'm still debating whether I want rage and trespassing, or simply a bunch of combat levels.

What is the Bay12 Opinion on Reset,

Nothing. All users start from scratch.

Only character's LP and stats are saved, like reincarnation. with full tradition.

Character with equipped items.

Character with equipped items and inventory.

I want stats, skills, and Lp. I'd also want items that don't have a quality to be kept. A seed is a seed, let me keep the damn thing.

In my poll, of respondents from bottleneck:

6 voted to keep nothing
5 voted to keep everything
4 voted to treat the reset as a resurrection
2 voted to keep only equipped items

My personal feeling is that keeping nothing, or perhaps only keeping 1/10th of LP or some other percentage, would at very least make the first hours of the new world a lot safer. I suspect that quite a few griefers will be hanging out at the RoB in the new world (For clarity, I propose that we call the former world "Ett", which is simply Swedish for one. The next world will be called "Två", or, two), sniping any weaker characters and quite possibly stealing whatever it is they bring.

Yes, such as harsh measure would drive away some portion of the player base. This is certainly true. However, I am not at all sure this is a bad thing.

I feel that if you are gonna leave the game cause they made a new map and took all your toys away. You shouldn't have been playing in the first place. Besides we here that Play DF should be used to the idea of having to start from scratch again...

A mass log-in sounds like a good idea assuming there will be people with murder, but perhaps we should have two or three: One for America (which has a difference of about 3 hours from one coast to the next), one for west europe, one for east europe? Something like blocks of 3-4 hours difference according to time zone.

A goon/some goons came through town last night and put down a bunch of runestones with classic websites such as lemonparty, theisleharlequinn, etc. Chopped down a bunch of trees in town and Valcor says he is missing some leather.

Well, if somebody has extra materials/tools/armor, we should organize who carries what. Of course we are going to haul a ton of steel and iron, but we will also need seeds of every type, enough candles to allow for early mining, various weapons to arm each one of us with that's better than just some leather armor and a stone axe and much more.

I'll take a load of seeds, just to make sure we got 'em.

Good idea. I'll bring beer to sate our thirsts. I just pray that I don't overdo it like that one guy.

I can stop whenever I want! *burp*
