For anyone interested, I've got plans for my own mega-complex come the map reset, which I will be placing on the border of a clay pit, a small walking distance outside the boundaries of the new Bottleneck. I call it, awesome.
Key:
Black: pallisade wall
Brown: house
Tan: wheat field
Orange: carrot field
Purple: grape field
Light blue: flax field
Red: smelter
Light brown: kiln
Light pink: oven
Dark green: artificial forest
Green: Hops field
Light green: tea field
Light purple: pallisade gate.
I did all the calculations for the building costs too.
A 25x25 light game forest.
A 13x29 timber forest.
9 smelters (405 bricks).
6 kilns (320 clay).
15 ovens (725 bricks).
5 houses (500 wood blocks, 250 boards).
A mine (500 wood blocks).
A 15x20 wheat field (300 seeds).
A 15x15 wheat field (225 seeds).
A 15x4 hops field (60 seeds).
A 5x10 grape field (50 seeds).
A 5x10 carrot field (50 seeds).
A 5x10 flax field (50 seeds).
A 69x5 tea field (345 seeds).
Total inside area: 82x50.
Outer Palisade: 938 wood blocks.
Inner palisade: 831 wood blocks.
Palisade connector-stripes: 30 wood blocks.
Light game forest palisade:210 wood blocks.
Timber forest palisade: 271 wood blocks.
Obviously, very extremely big. The total inside area is 4100 tiles. It'd be fully functional as its own town, given that the other four house had occupants instead of just being my tool sheds and silk labs
.
The total wood block cost would be 3280, or 118 fully grown pine trees. The total board cost would be 250, or 21 fully grown pine trees. If you combine the stumps you get from the boards, then I'd only need 115 fully grown pines to meet the blocks. Overall costs would require 136 fully grown pines, an immense number, obviously. I'd also need 1450 clay (some would become bricks) for all the facilities, and some 1080 seeds. To make it simpler...
TL;DR I'm going to embark upon a hermit-fortress megaproject once the new map comes.
