Sorry guys, really busy with crap. I'll probably just remove my claim when I get back on because I really don't have anything to steal.

For anyone interested, I've got plans for my own mega-complex come the map reset, which I will be placing on the border of a clay pit, a small walking distance outside the boundaries of the new Bottleneck. I call it, awesome.

Key:

I did all the calculations for the building costs too.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Obviously, very extremely big. The total inside area is 4100 tiles. It'd be fully functional as its own town, given that the other four house had occupants instead of just being my tool sheds and silk labs  :P.

The total wood block cost would be 3280, or 118 fully grown pine trees. The total board cost would be 250, or 21 fully grown pine trees. If you combine the stumps you get from the boards, then I'd only need 115 fully grown pines to meet the blocks. Overall costs would require 136 fully grown pines, an immense number, obviously. I'd also need 1450 clay (some would become bricks) for all the facilities, and some 1080 seeds. To make it simpler...

TL;DR I'm going to embark upon a hermit-fortress megaproject once the new map comes.

Well, my claim (which extends a tile out in each direction from my palisade) is 4176 tiles (58x72).  I don't think that's very big considering that you're planning on doing so much more with yours.  It looks like it'll be cramped.  =P

It seems we wont HAVE a Bottleneck Village on the next map. We'll have a loose coalition of forts (even more loose than on the current map).

We shall form a feudal society, with the various villages consisting of forts with the good stuff (Iron, steel, tools, weapons) inside and various crops outside. Those lacking skill to make their own will be accepted in these forts for assistance.

We going to keep the name "Bottlneck" for the new city/feudal area?
I kinda like it, but there probably wont be a bottleneck next time around...

That is, unless we find another interesting geological site.

And we need a name for out group of forts. The League of Brewing sounds interesting.

Its important to remember that fort locations will be restricted by suitable mining locations on the new map, if we want to mine anyway. I am hoping to stop playing solo with the new map update and join a settlement but we'll have to see how things work out.

I don't remember reading anything about this. Is there a map restart actually due in some foreseeable future?
