Can they do that on my property without leaving anything other than a trespassing clue?  Anyway, the fact that I have SO FREAKING MANY of them and have a bunch of trees I could chop down for more means I don't exactly care what happens to those.

I think I need to restate why I probably wouldn't even blink if those wood blocks got atom smashed.  See this:

Yes, I had to cut down that apple tree to make room for my log stockpile.

Well, i might join. Seems like it fairly incomplete, but still fun.

I'd probably need someone to guide me to our settlement, however.

I can grant you citizenship, thus allowing you to teleport down to Bottleneck. Are you online right now?

Hmm, palisades.  I actually have a use for my massive number of wood blocks now.  =D

I'm in right now... and I don't know if I should move my house or not...

Does anyone knows if there's enough space to claim ?

Ah, the dev team is one of the best you could get. New, cool, and well thought-out features every third day or so. I might take up the game again.

Example: Walls. The first cornerpost for palisades is ****ing expensive, which prevents abuse. But palisades provide decent protection, and are great against griefers - whereas fences are just a "this is mine" marker. They're dirt cheap but about as solid as wet cardboard. And brick walls are probably nigh-inpenetratable but require ressources on village level.

On another note, BOOZE!

Jeez, now that WE FINALLY HAVE THE PALISADES I HAD BEEN GOING ON ABOUT ALL THAT TIME, I should probably knock down those dry racks and construction posts and get to work on it. Than again, I'd be using far less trees if I just made a brick wall, so I'll just get masonry.

Might not get around to it for awhile, and it might be a pointless endeaver within a three to four month period of when the map could get reset.

Its only been a month. Two and a half for some people. It really hasn't been that long. It'll come.

I'm working on erecting a palisade around my nature character's claim.  I wonder how many logs will be left when I'm done.

I don't think there is, there's minimum space required between claim (I think it's five tiles). You will probably be able to cover your door, but not your whole cabin. I suggest moving it a bit south.

Anyway, people, walls. We could build a wall around entire Bottleneck, but that would not only impede cart travel but also make it impossible for visitors to come. I don't think that's what we want. Sure, it puts a stop to griefing and theft, but some of our tourists settled down and became productive citizens of Bottleneck. Keeping Bottleneck a relatively open community will allow this to repeat.

So, I think we should wall neighbourhoods; ie make a common wall for adjacent homesteads. That way less copies of keys are required (except for stockpile) which increases individual gate security, we'll protect parts of the town much sooner than with one big village wall, and we'll be able to expand Bottleneck indefinitely without having to tear down any walls.

we could go for an outer wall and an inner wall. The outer wall not needing a gate. but just marks off 'bottleneck turf'
and the innerwall to protect some of the homes we have. it would esentially lead to us havign an area where people can come to trade, and an area where people can live fairly secure.

Sounds like a good idea. Though outer wall should be low priority, as we'll need the resources for these inner walls. First wall to go up should be for stockpile, I think, but we should hold off actually moving the supplies into the walled area before we make at least five or six keys for it.

If you make a wall and gate around the stockpile and mine, I'll have to remember to get the keys aswell.

If I forgot to ask for actual citizenship (well I got it now) for that long, who knows how long I'd be locked out of central bottleneck without realizing I could just ask for a key! :P
