Just remember that with this being isometric, the map and the actual world directions don't line up. Straight down on the map is digonal down and left in the world. I got lost a few times this way.

To prevent THAT, I developed a very simplistic view on the directions in the game.

If your X is moving AWAY from the direction on the map you want to go (by the way, memorize locations. Makes things AND THIS easier) then change directions.

Its really not that hard to navigate if you know the area.

North, in the main view, is up and to the right. It's just like UO.

  W  N
    \/
    /\
   S  E

And on the minimap:

    N
    |
W-+-E
    |
    S

Pretty simple once you get used to it.

Ok, i decided were I'm gona claim: to the west of the main road south-west of the mine. It seems fairly empty.

EDIT: also, I'll be cutting some trees in the forest, I hope no one minds, 'cause I need alot of wood...

It's OK, just don't cut trees that aren't fully grown, and try to plant as many as you cut down (it's OK if there's a delay, but try to get to it within a couple of days).

Just remember to use logs for boards only. You can get plenty of wood blocks from the stumps - and we have absolute tons of stumps east of Adam and I.

Wellll. In case I get a thief I will so hunt him down. As soon as I get ranging... And I'm pretty far outta the way, so...

Not to mention, you can build a new cart. The thing I'd have trouble replacing would be my chests.

Now that I finished building my house, I wanted to start mining and such like any true dwarf should, but I noticed a rune in front of the mine that warned not to steal. Does that mean not to mine in the mine, or only to not steal already mined ore?

It pretty much means not to take bars from the mining area. A lot of people want to keep the bars they smelt, as they take quite a bit of work to make. That runestone really should be more clear. Everyone is allowed to mine down there and use ore from the baskets near the mine, in most cases.

Hey WorkerDrone. I saw your threadin the H&H forums, and I'd like to trade. I can supply shitloads of tea, bread, honeybuns, and (pending on if I can find cows locally) apple pies. I'd like to buy 8 wrought iron bars, so you tell me what you want in return.

I'm in the market for two baskets of Carrot Cake right now Sonerohi.

But I'll let you know if and when I'll be needing Honeybuns.

Sorry Sonerohi, but like I said, I might be in the market for Honeybuns in the near future (after I'm done stat raising with Carrot Cake) so you'll be the first person I go to for them.
