I need to log out for a while Dragooble. We got three iron total so far, and a metric ton smelting right now.

Hey guys, I think we have quite enough straw. From now on, leave the straw to rot in the field if the baskets on the right side of the field (looking from entrance) are full of straw - the baskets on the left are for wheat seeds. This will ensure we always have straw for our daily needs, yet make harvesting much faster. Gathering all the straw results in lot of unproductive walking, so this should significantly boost our harvesting efficiency.

Workerdrone, and correct me if my memory of where you plopped down is untrue, please unclaim the apple tree. While we do have tree replanting in place we have yet to place one near the kitchens for easy branch collection. So we really, really need that tree to keep the bread flowing.

What good is straw for, DJ, besides baskets and beehives? I've yet to find a use for it.

Don't you mill the straw and make bread? I only ask because I've never baked in-game before.

You need to mill two seeds for flour.

Well, st6raw is good for baskets as you said, and they always seem to require more and more baskets at the mine. We should just maintain a steady supply for expansion of stocks. Also, when hunting, if you bring ten straw you can make a basket and carry a lot of meat, some in your inventory and some in the basket. I've seen some people carry animal corpses, but you can fit a couple of cows in a straw basket when you butcher them.

Do you guys store ore down there or what?

Also, I made two pickaxe discoveries.

#1. The actual item makes mining a freakin breeze.
#2. The icon pickaxe for mining takes clicks from the center of the head/end of the shaft, instead of the actual tip of the pick.

Good news Dragooble! We have a cauldron and a pickaxe, and are one bar away from a second pickaxe! Currently smelting two full furnaces worth of iron that I powermined using the new superpick. Metalworks ahoy! I also have managed to acheive literally every skill except murder and trespassing, because those are the skills of thieves and cowards.

Trees are becoming abundant in the forest below us again. Just for clarification, is it okay to cut them down so that I can construct my cabin? I wouldn't need all of them, ofcourse, but it would take quite a few.

It's OK, just wait for them to fully grow, so you get two logs. That, or go to the new logging camp (just follow the road south of the mine) and get lumber there. And make sure you use iron saw as it makes 6 planks while bone saw makes only 4.

Does the B12 Battleaxe help cut down trees faster or something? Otherwise there's practically no point to steel besides soldiers sword.
