When I've got over 100 dwarves and I can see them all running past eachother carrying godknowswhat taking it godknowswhere, Vordhosbn by Aphex Twin goes perfectly. It's organised chaos.

Dwarves slave mining gold for a bitchy queen in the video, then she dies and they bury her.  Plus its in German, which is the dwarfiest human language!

Oh yeah...and theres a coked out midget orgy.  Dwarfy!

You DO realize that this is a Heavy metal version of Snow white and the 7 dwarves, right?

Of course.  I just wanted to make it sound more like DF!   ;D

Thus ends the official written history of the fortress known as Boatmurdered. May their tortured souls rest in peace.

The intro to "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" by Dream Theater. The whole song is 42 minutes long :P

Covers a wide variety of Dwarven situations, from peaceful farming to glorious combat.

The somewhat poor quality version on YouTube:

The good quality live orchestral version on YouTube:

Or anything on "A Night at the Opera" by Blind Guardian. I mean, come on, look at the album cover.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The song "And Then There Was Silence" from the album is good for an epic HFS fight.

And then there's "Harvest of Sorrow", also by Blind Guardian, appropriate when your fort is crumbling to its end because you pulled the irrigation lever without first sealing the farm up.
