Okay, now you're just being a douche on purpose.

He's asking for freeware games. Not... Pirateware...

Legendary comedian can't take a joke... :P

I've been playing Haxima now, which has been tons of fun.

Here's a fun little side-scrolling brawler w/ multiplayer: Little Fighter 2   http://lf2.net/

Notice the topic says FREE.

TOEE and Warcraft 3 don't count.

Okay ToEE is not free, but ah well...it costs like 10$ or so?  :P

I actually have both Warcraft III and The Temple of Elemental Evil. I bought both of them several years ago, back when I was first at college.

Also, I don't mind piracy, as I believe information should be free (including all forms of data), but I seriously doubt I will be doing that anytime soon. I use a public internet connection right now that can only download things at about 100 KB/s - and that is with just one download at a legal server.

The only things on the list so far I have not gotten are N, Ragnarok Battle Offline, and Little Fighter. I will get two of those this week, and the other sometime next month most likely, as my rent is going down by about $100, so I can finally get internet. Maybe then I might also start doing torrents too.

Right now, I have to get lunch and go grocery shopping. I appreciate you all posting game recommendations. But a couple more things.

My favorites out of the recommendations, by the way, are Brass Restoration Project, Diadra Empty, and Hengband, but I haven't tried all of the recommendations yet.

That is because A) I downloaded some extra games at DoujinStyle after hearing about it from Hawkfrost, B.) I started playing Dwarf Fortress WITHOUT cheating, and am actually doing decently, and C.) I keep on playing Osu!, which is now one of my top five favorite games ever. Seriously, I love this game.

Do keep the recommendations coming though. I'm a gamer at heart (many things at heart actually), so I would love to have gigs of stuff on my hard drive.

Peace out, got to eat before my stomach starts growling like some sort of annoying canine.

completly different genre but if your willing to give space sims / elite clones a chance theres quite a few high quality games for free..

http://privateer.sourceforge.net/ - remake of wing commander privateer

http://www.ciinet.org/kevin/wc1remake/ - remake of wingcommander 1 -not that great tbh

hardwar - a great game but  http://zedo.hardwar.org.uk/hardwarisos.htm is down atm

http://riftspace.findmysoft.com/  http://starwraith3dgames.home.att.net/others.htm a series of space sims made by one guy, the older ones are free.

http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/

There are probably others ive missed

other great sources of games are ROM sites, Abandonware sites, and Tigsource, and other indie developer blogs.

Also theres a crap load of roguelikes out there

I haven't been able to get any vomit this release. Not any I can pick up, at any rate.
Swans, too. Swans are complete bastards.

I was just thinking of getting some Sega roms this morning - some games like Traysia and Phantasy Star III I really do enjoy. I will get some abandonware eventually as well.

Space Sims aren't really my thing unless they, like colony sims. I don't like things like Wing Commander, as they are too difficult.

Yet I once said the same about Osu! being hard, and yet I kick ass by myself. I guess don't knock'em till you try them (again and again).
