A few interesting sites...
« on: May 27, 2009, 03:31:25 pm »

Per request from this thread:

http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=36248.msg570744#msg570744

Thought I'd upload a few nice sites I've genned and embarked on but haven't played yet.
(Uploads are... up)

"Pit of Despair"
This site contains an evil mountain biome, sand, magma and a bottomless pit with a zombie troll in it. Who knows what else might lurk beneath, hidden and terrifying!

"There's Demons in them thar Mountains"
Yes, the pretty pyramid sits on top of something scary. There's also a bottomless pit and underground river. Dungeon Master's delight!

"Shellwhips"
This one just has some fun stuff on it. Sand, magma pipe, river.

The *large serrated steel disk* strikes the Raven in the head, tearing apart the muscle, shattering the skull, and tearing apart the brain!
A tendon in the skull has been torn!
The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

IN shellwhips where does the river come from? If its a waterfall its a crazy one!

Also: The idea of dwarves whipping up some kind of cream out of shells sounds really tasty.

What are you using to generate the 3-d pics?  I have a site that I simply must see like that.

That is two different z-levels.  Where the river leaves the map is the boundary.  Probably two different pictures, too.

I placed a space in the [/ img] tag to make it nonfunctional.  Yup. Two different images.

Yeah, it's just a brook on Shellwhips. I put a break between the pics to make it more clear. Just wanted to show the two different forest biomes. There's also a bottomless pit on that map.

I used 3Dwarf to generate the 3D shots. I'm a giant map nerd so any site I'm interested I survey using DFMA and 3Dwarf to get ideas. Then I play for a 2-3 years, lose interest and generate a bunch more worlds. Hence the sharing, I'll never get to all the sites I've picked out. ;)
