So... we need Panda to post action, and we can move on.
I'll need the statuses for Panda, Strife, Cheeetar, and Meph too.

I gave you my character info just a few posts ago.

Status-wise, I had only just joined, so I killed a zombie or two and have not been hurt yet.

Statuses updated, Strife and Cheeetar's may be inaccurate. Panda will just stand there this turn.
Firing has also been revamped - you guys get 10 AP a turn.

Fragbait moves up two squares (2 AP) and draws his pistol (3 AP), blasting at the zombie(4 AP). Blam!
Ferik dies and oddly bursts into flame, killing three zombies around him!
RAM deals the zombie in front of him a hefty blow with his club (5 AP), then goes on to stab it with his knife (4 AP), killing it!
Emperor stabs the zombie next to him twice (8 AP) - it is moderately injured.
Lauren dual-wields her pistols, lowering her AP cost to 3 per shot. She hammers the zombie with a headshot and a powerful hit in the arm, but also skims Emperor. However, the zombie has been killed!
Meph shoots twice at an approaching zombie (8 AP), but he only manages a poor hit in the arm.
Cheeetar also shoots twice, hoping to protect his teammate. But his aim is off - one shot goes wide, and the other only skims the zombie.
Strife endeavors to defend himself - he gives the zombie a good slashing across the arm and chest! The zombie is killed.

Jesus. TWO HOURS on this mess. From now on I'm probably not updating except on weekends. I've got to think of a better way to do this...
$50 to whoever thinks up a good way to generate fight scenes without all this work.

Woohoo! A turn! And a kill!

What exactly is causing the problems, is it mostly the graphics? otr the rolls? Or tracking who is who?

Should we post our actions now or wait for the zombies to move?

It's the friggin' graphics. Just... ugh. I have to manipulate all these things and I spent almost an hour trying to work out a good system.
Wait for the zombies to move, and work on that challenge.

I suppose you have been copy and pasting. Hmmm, sorry, I can;t really think of much, my artistic skills don't really go beyond 'copy and paste' and '1 pixel at a time'. I probably wouldn't really notice if you always used the same injury graphic...

It's not the details, it's just getting things to work - there are always overlapping things when I try to move people and then I have to erase them and such and uggggh

I think I've got a decent system now though. I'll work on it on the weekend.

Well, I will tell you what I would do, on the off chance tat any of it is useful...

The version of paint that I have has an option to exclude the right-click colour when you paste a picture from the clipboard.
I would keep a blank section of grid, for deleting things, probably about 4x4 and only going about half-way into the outer-most squares. Also a 1x1 one for removing single characters, doing the edges pixel by pixel if need be.
I would keep copies of all the objects on a specific background colour(preferably one of the defaults) that I don't think will be used anywhere, but it just needs to be absent from the picture it is the background of.
I would probably copy a temporary copy of the bit I was working on to a spare paint window, until I got lazy...
Then I would get to work copy/pasting/rotating stuff from files onto the main map as appropriate, then go over the previous map and the actions one last time to check that everything was right...

So make scenes piece by piece and then stitch the thing together?
If I make a blank canvas and then stitch them onto that... that could work quite well.
$50 to ya.

I, er, haven't actually done any work yet. Been a bit busy.
But I'll do it eventually, in all likelihood.
