What mods do you use?

If you use any mods... which ones do you use and which do you avoid?

Does anyone out there swear by any of the mods?

I'll carry on anyway :3

I add in the orcs and remove the ranged weapons from all races myself. I want some close up combat or lava/water based traps :)

EDIT: this gives me a question btw; what (dwarf-forged) weapons results in the most gore?

New question! If I were to remove elves [INTELLIGENT] tag in the raws, would it work?
Dwarf Fortress: Where taking a creatures intelligence is an accepted way of modding.

I think axes make the most gore. It would be even better when you use a axedwarf and a hammerdwarf. The axedwarf slashes off a limb and the hammerdwarf sends it flying. Blood everywhere.

Orc mod and some changes done by myself. Like making obsidian magma proof and adding some trainable and pet tags to animals.

Thanks, axes it are then. I don't like hammers :3

I'm pretty much vanilla, tho' the orkz are on the short list.  I wanna go thru the game a few times to the end to know my options and goals before setting myself on fire at the start.

Cats with mouths, the "natural" color scheme, some world-gen tinkering - mostly vanilla.  For now.  Never any stone/sand tweaks.

Axes, no doubt. They are THE "slashing" weapon, and that takes limbs and heads etc, often several at once.  If the creature doesn't die, even more gore as they trail blood whereever.  And axes can send foes flying as hammers do (maybe not as far, but far enough).

For traps, maybe a toss-up between the giant axe blade and the serrated disc for the same reason (slashing), but probably the latter.

Molten Rocks, plus a bunch of stuff I've thrown together (graphics, three new entities, an overhaul of plants, and some aesthetic changes).

I don't. I fiddle with the inits a little, but that's all.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

Well I tend to use the Legendary Lands mod. I plan to create a total conversion mod, but I won't start to work on it 'til txt/gfx is separated, because I would like to make a nice tileset for it.  :)
