I think non-aggressive animals only count hostile after you attack them, so your shots kept missing because there's no friendly fire in DF.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

Well, at least I know that now.

Guess I'll just have to start stabbing them straight off.

Oh, and the world I just let gen for 10,000 years to see the legends just died.. after three hours of waiting.

Welp, time to go drown the world in magma.

False.

All wildlife is hostile by default. There are strange, buggy circumstances in which you may become friendly to the less aggressive wildlife, like killing a bunch of them or enough night creatures or something; they eventually decide that because you're a predator their best chance of survival is to be best friends with you. Or something... but those circumstances are strange and buggy and generally unreliable. Fresh adventurers are generally not included in them. Your companions never will be and will always bumrush every single bunny or waste all their arrows on a kea. Sometimes you have to save your companions from a hippo that was otherwise friendly to you. Sometimes horses will love you but deer will not.

You can safly assume, that everyone in your worlds wants to eat your guts.

'cuz, you know, you have candy guts as adventurer.

Ha ha ha, it's so true!

The only swordsman that Cobar has ever matched swords with and been unable to defeat in single combat was an elf commander (disappointing, I know) that lived in comfort beneath a solid-gold castle. I assume he would take nightly strolls through the fort taking loose gold bricks from the floor.

She still had a long way to go, and that six-limbed armadillo devil godking wasn't about to kill itself."

Indeed it is. I chose it because it looks exactly like me.

Well, almost exactly like me. I don't usually pull that face.

Completely off-topic, but yes. Yes I do look like I have a pubic hair mustache. But given a week or so and I'll look like a cop, so it's only a temporary thing.

In the interest of maintaining some degree of on-topic-ness, here's this...

I can't draw, but I leave this for someone who can: I had just fought off an ambush of about 13 goblins singlehandedly with my awesome adamantine gear I looted from an old fort of mine. Then, as I'm walking away from the carnage, a single goblin sneaks up behind me, with no limbs left, and bites me in the head. Somehow he ignores the helmet, and crushes my skull and brain with a single, fatal chomp.
