the siliest death was dodging into a 30Z drop and surviving, only to be curb stomped by a giant rat after i threw a flaming barrel of Swarven rum at an elephant, setting it on fire.

4 iirc left arm, right foot, left lower leg and my left thumb >_<

I've never heard of anything surviving more than ten z-levels, but thirty?! I don't care what your skin is made of, adamantine or not, that is ridiculous.

Deon's Genesis werewolf civ can survive 10zlevels. (Or atleast, that what they keep doing for me.)
Which is why I make pits 20+ zlevels.
