Though, I must ask, what is the highest per ration value one can get?

Highest per-ration value is 4,920☼ for an all-dwarven-cheese or all-dragon-meat roast.  Cutting either roast with dragon tallow reduces the per-ration value to 4,320☼ and it's all downhill from there.  As always, the maximum theoretical value is unlikely to appear in the wild without a user making a concerted effort (But this is DF - so we'll see a forum post about it next Wednesday).  The  odds of a Legendary+5 cook successfully getting a masterpiece quality modifier on all four ingredients and his preparation roll is about 0.5%. 

Cutting any roast with a high stack-size food is a great way to boost the total stack value, though.  A maxed-out stack of cheese roast (above) is worth 172,200☼.  If you cut it with a stack of 25 dwarven syrup the per-ration value drops to 3,960☼ but the total stack value jumps to 336,600☼.  Just goes to show that stack size matters.

The roast in the first post has a value per ration of 3960, while the whole stack has a value of 455400. It uses Dwarven Syrup as filler which is the most valuable thing available in that amount (Nothing else can be found in stacks of 55, except Quarry Bush leaves and booze, but those aren't as valuable.).

Not necessarily. I may have curdled into some yoghurt-like curd substance though. They probably haven't added rennet either, or filtered it for that matter.

Dwarven Milk is clearly something more like kumis. Filtering or coagulating it towards curds is cheating. The entire goal is an alcohol content high enough to kill anything but a dwarf.

You wonder what happens to all that rock dust? They mix in it with the milk and then mince the paste.

It's not actually mentioned in the game because the dwarves don't realize it's anything unusual. Eating rock dust is a practice that's invisible in their culture.

Well mincing the alcohol is easy.  Just add some calcium acetate (mix crushed chalk and pure vinegar, filter results) to the booze to make it into a jelly like substance.  You can now mince that..

I want to see one of those obscene value roasts sold to the elves. This would ultimately prove, once and for all, if giving the elves large profits will cause them to bring you hundreds of elf-tonnes of rope reed cloth.
