started a new fort recently, and got my first elf caravan.
halfway there, discovered i couldn't seal it up without a lot of inconvenience. so i deconstruct it, WHILE the elves are still inside, and make an awesoem discovery.

when it vanished, a ton of goods the elves brought wer just lying around, and my dwarves could go and pick them up, FREE! usefull since i didn't have anyone who could trade very well, or anything worth any money either. plus, it got  me some free ropes, which i can use to hold the bait for the GCS which is crawling around in the chasm somewhere  ;D

actually, they dropped ALL thier stuff!! :D

Of course, you can make the game as easy as you like. Its not much fun that way though.

Doing this has exactly the same effect as seizing all of the goods the elves have, right on down to them bringing less stuff next time.
