Now that's what I meant! Although I thought Olonkulet would be farther north compared to Nist Akath...
Anyway, I'll post a spoilered version of the second map in first post as a WIP.

How much further north would be good?  In Waterbore it's seems like part of the overall Dwarven "Kingdom" but kinda distant, similar in Olonkulet (Both of which I completely forgot about the forts being sealed).

Filled in the area around Nilzares similar to its map and added Lanternwebs to the north east.  Lanternwebs is mention as being located in a distant mountain range further than ever before explored from Sosadcerol so if it's gonna stay on the map it's got to be there or move to the new range in the west, I transplanted some it's map around it.

I hope no one minds I'm letting myself get ahead of input, but it's kinda fun. I imagine the northwestern peninsula being kinda like the Amazon: hot, wild, savage, and full of elves.  It can be anything though.

Perfect, could you make another map or two for different era's? Maybe add civ borders and respective mountianhomes so later stories can go political if they want to?

I know that Flak hasn't posted here but if I were going to place Oceanbled in the rain shadow of the Sosadcerol's mountain range in the east and set it around AD 250-300 during the apparent decline(?) of the Eastern Dwarves.  The giant goblins would fit in nicely with the tales of trolls and orcs.

Hey Imp, just saw this and wanted to pop in.  I'm a little rusty on the time-line that's currently going on, but there have been a few teeny references to characters from Migrursut in the Olonkulet story, so it would take place ... hell, (X) number of years after, as far as I can tell ;)

Keep up the good work, friend!

Different Era maps should be easy to work out once the general landscape gets finished so that shouldn't be a problem.  Civ borders could be more difficult as most forts focus on the active fort.  Nilzares is one of the few that actively discusses the events of the Capital but then not much else.  Or are you talking about drawing together nearby sites on the map and forming civs out of that?

Oh!  That presents more of a challenge.  Must be somewhere in (if not under) the Dipped Moist Desert then. :)

There are some references (I won't say who), but location isn't an issue.  Assume that they join the mother nation of Migrursut after Olonkulet's saga is finished, at least 30-40 years before.  Also, loving the current map!

Well here's the first attempt at filling every last tile on the map, I did some touch up work on some previously worked sections:

Comments? Suggestions?  Could definitely use a few more sites!

Edit- Dang, spotted one blank tile already. :P

Where does the demon wars take place? Also, it needs the other races.

Looks beautiful.

Maybe make a version with settlement/site names next to the icons, for those of us who are confused about which place is supposed to be which?

Shouldn't Külettogum be pretty much due south of Olonkulet?  I seem to remember the dwarven caravan stopping at Olenkulet on their way to Külettogum...

Külettogum is equatorial, so it would have to be pretty far north.  Maybe Olonkulet is in that desert on the north end of the map, and Külettogum in that swampy region to the south of there, which would make the rest of the dwarven kingdoms even further north... hrmm...

I think the map might need two hemispheres...

Now, what about Halltraded?  It should be right along a major river in a dead, cursed forest.  That could be west of Külettogum, since the west portion of there goes into an evil biome in any case (While the east portion is a good biome).  Perhaps Külettogum's river is a tributary of the major river that Halltraded is on?

Come to think of it, the dwarves that originally settled Külettogum came in from the north, so that would be more evidence of a two hemisphere map.

Anyway, nice map!  Now it just needs labels, and where are the ruins of Boatmurdered?

I wonder if Copperblazes is anywhere near Nist Akath?  It would be on a glacier, though I always pictured it as far to the north, so maybe Copperblazes is near the north pole, while Nist Akath is near the south?

For other races, there would be some elves south of Halltraded, downstream, who are wondering what happened to the river, since it got dammed!  The major river should turn into a major riverbed!  XD

Attempted to explain that away in this post, actually.  See the trade routes.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a map of Kulettogum itself when I was mocking those up, so I had to create a generic swamp.

First post updated with latest map, here's another vote for a version with names.

I still like the timeline better, but i'll help out with this. As to where Lanternwebs is in relation to Nilarzes and Sosadcerol, it hasn't really been explained but there are some vague descriptions. Its been established that it takes a month to journey on foot between Nilarzes and Sosadcerol, and that it takes many months, at least two, to journey from Sosadcerol to Lanternwebs.

In one of my updates a group coming from Lanternwebs to Sosadcerol arrived from the west, so multiply the distance from Nilarzes and Sosadcerol by at least two, west of Sosadcerol and that should be roughly where Lanternwebs is.

No i'm not a perfectionist, that's crazy talk, i'm going to have to kill you.

Yeah I drew large portions of the map up from the map sets found in Nilzares, Waterbore, Olonkulet, and a few Embark pictures from different threads in the forum then filled in the blanks and tried to keep it consistent though I decided not to display rivers (some could be extrapolated from the appearance of valleys coming down out of the mountains) as the map is kinda squished at 50x80 and rivers are kinda tile-space intensive (particularly so going north-south) but if people want them displayed I'll add them.  I kinda planned from the start to work out a 257x257 version in the world painter and then letting it run for awhile with different history seeds.

Current map with names for sites (Good thing we only have 9 now or I'd have to figure something else out):

I'm thinking that we should move Oceanbled to the northern red desert.  I just re-read the opening and I believe that would fit better with the climate and embarking activity described in the story.  I probably should scale back that desert in the southeast too.  From what Bloodbeard is describing Lanternwebs could probably be safely moved to the northern most tile of mountains near the ruins of "Lanternwebs I" in the southwestern red desert.  That'd probably be anywhere from three to five months (if not more) on foot to reach Sosadcerol.

Maybe the Dwarves of Külettogum's home civilization were kinda crazy and oriented their maps upside down relative to everyone else? :D
