What if we just start a new story arc? The stories could be 100% designed to mesh together. We could have a big reference wiki for all the lore.

For those interested here is the reference for Aredolush (Waterbore)

http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=22912.0

It's a great read. I didn't realize until now that Iituem wrote it. I'd read it forever and a day ago and loved it. Was sad to see it go. But that much water is an FPS trap waiting to happen.

It was also one of the first detailed appearances of Oddbodd as created by Maggarg.
Technically it's a precursor sequel to Olonkulet. It was written before Olonkulet (which was only recently started by Iituem as well) but occurs afterwards in the timeline. A subtle reference to Boatmurdered left Oddbodd as the lone surviving child of Olonkulet as I recall.

"In the year 1048, Jreengus occured."

Bit of a DF vet in-joke, relating to the thread of the same name ('Jreengus occured').  Due to an interesting oversight Kobold events were still phrased in Gibberish, so instead of 'The War of Unsettling Fishes began', you get 'Slubnibdish began' or the infamous 'Jreengus occured'.

Okay, basic timeline, check.

Can we make a basic draft of a map around AD 0? And then modify that like legends mode maps for every ~50-100 years depending on how much happened in that preiod?

Imo the list of dates and events would be far more fun and interesting to flesh out then a map of all the fortresses. If all these forts were in the same universe then i'd much rather prefer to picture where they all could be in my imagination and not be tied down to geography.

Yeah, the timeline is cool.

Maybe we could make a map of the Hall Of Legends?  So we take the Hall of Legends Stories or at least the forts, and we put em on a community map?

Because then it wouldn't have Boatmurdered, Nist Akath, Olonkulet, etc. The big attraction of this is that there are already a bunch of fortresses with established histories, rather than trying to build it all up from scratch.

I hope not.

I vote for a Map of Legends to house all the fortresses from the Hall of Legends.

We can make a second one for the Olonkulet world sure.  And Ill help add Blockedlance to that one.  But still....I think a community map for the Hall of Legends makes sense.

Soo... Is anyone still interested in this? Any improvements on the timeline? Basic hall of legends map?
Anything?

*Cough*

I'm a bit interested in this still...

Errr-Just slapped down some crude ideas cobbled together from various maps folks posted here and there.  Approximately AD 140, missing Lanternwebs (largely because I've no idea where to put it, gotta be close enough yet far away from Sosadcerol somewhere) with no legendary ruins yet.

Well, I recognise Waterbore, Olonkulet, Abbeyverse, the ruins of Lanternwebs I and Nist Akath so far.  Good layout, actually.  What are the other ones?

Starting in the center south and going north and east: the unnamed (I couldn't find it mentioned) origin mountainhome of Waterbore, Ivorylens (Sosadcerol), and Hammerknight (Nilzares).

Edit- Filled in the southwest to try to get an idea what a completed map might look like.

I know that Flak hasn't posted here but if I were going to place Oceanbled in the rain shadow of the Sosadcerol's mountain range in the east and set it around AD 250-300 during the apparent decline(?) of the Eastern Dwarves.  The giant goblins would fit in nicely with the tales of trolls and orcs.
