Thanks!! Man I really love adventure mode. Hope the developers add more in depth content at some point

EDIT: Oh err, I forgot to ask; is there currency in adventure mode? If so, how do I view it?
And when I turn in a completed task do I get anything in return?

Also, my companion speardwarf seems to have lost her spear. She's just smacking things with her shield! Any way to reequip her?

There is currency,in the form of coins (gold, silver etc). It shows up in your inventory like any other item. When trading there's an option to trade for currency rather then items (look at the bottom of the screen, you should see the little key guide). You trade these coins for items just like if you were trading items for items. The upside is that they're lighter and easier to carry.

When you complete a task you are called a hero and thats it. Your name gets recorded in the legends though. You can get a title after your name by killing a sentient beings (human/dwarf/elf/goblin). But as per actual items for rewards you get jack.

And for your spearwoman, make sure to look at her status (l) and make sure she still has two arms and hands. If she does you can get a spear and just put it down next to her and hope she's bright enough to take it. There's no real way to just hand it to her though, that I know of.

hey Piecewise.

I was going through a goblin tower, killing quite a few(I survived being fired at by a bowgobbo) but as I was running away, the Demon came and killed me.

Can you give some tactics for fighting Demons?

I would personally recommened either a spear or arrows. Demons don't need weapons to kill you so disarming them (if they have weapons) is only sorta useful. The thing you want to do is knock them out, which a twisted spear or arrow is great at. Beyond that the pierce damage they provide is deadly against almost any organic enemy.

Beyond that, make sure you have a good armor/shield skill to block that dang fire breath and any other attacks. If you can't use a spear then a sword or ax is good too, but you better hope you do some debilitating damage quickly.

I noticed from my most recent character (who was also quite a bit more successful, hooray for not sucking) that after completing a quest or two, many more people were willing to join my party. I went around to a few human/dwarf/gob towns and recruited at least 7 people. Then I decided to raid a northern human village. I easily murdered the weapon master (I cut off his hand quickly ;D) but then was instantly killed by a crossbowman.. damnit.
So perhaps being a hero = more fame + more ladies?

And ever single time I got a quest to kill a giant, I ended up finding him wounded and unable to move. It made it a lot easier to finish them off and I was thankful, but still a bit confused. I guess they like to bash their head on cave walls for fun?!

yea, the more quests you do, the more people will be willing to join you.

As for the giants, they were probably wounded during world gen

I had a question. When you select your race/origin, a part of the map on the right is highlighted. What does this mean?

Hrm. So how do I actually get meat off corpses? I picked it up and tried to eat it:

You lick the cougar corpse.

Also, how to wrestle? I grabbed the beastie... What next?

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then you kill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.

You have to be starving to eat the animal corpse me thinks. You're rather picky when just hungry, but when near death you're a little less whiney.

Animals are generally impossible to wrestle in depth, since you can only take them down, throw them or strangle. After grabbing them just hit (shift+a) again to continue wrestling. However, with humanoids and larger animals you can lock their joints and then break them.

You can also eye gouge against humanoids, one of my favourite tactics (causes heavy bleeding, you can usually gouge out both eyes without an attack and murders their accuracy).  I can't remember if you can do it against animals.
