Also, nothing at all about using two accounts.  Or, for instance, hacking into the mods account and reading all the role pms he's sent.

Also... the VERY BASIC principle of mafia involves n players... not n-1 players with one player taking 2 spots... 2 spots inmediatly breaks many rules (nighttalking, sharing pm, revealing night action to a partner) not talking about the impossibility of winning as both teams.

And the very principle of mafia involves being able to see whether and when other people are talking to each other and the bot?  Wait, it's just like that role from Paranormal you loved so much.  Only worse.

It DOES suck.   

I take back what I said related to the whois cheat because it's like hacking an account to check a role pm... but the rest of my arguments are still valid.  If it's not against the rules (and I don't mean specifically but generally) it's not wrong.  This obviously is and it's enforced, apparently, by the mods too.

The worst thing is... I've whoised people a thousand times to check who they were but never really noticed the idle time and it's possible fraudulent use.

Why has it surfaced now?  How long have you guys known this?

anyway... there must be a way to hide the idle time.

Be it with a channel option or with a user option.

I have never used /whois in a game. But on IRC yesterday, quinnr was asking if there was a way to do chat with multiple people in one mafia. Someone said something about an option that will prevent anyone else from /whois -ing you, so they couldn't figure out what channels you were in. So there is a way.

so far... it seems that hiding idle time is impossible without fucking with the source code (Bad idea).

disabling whois seems off because it should involve the WHOLE server.  Maybe there are some servers that allow it.

All I can think of is a timed script that will keep actioning.

Yeah, I hadn't actually thought of it either.  Mainly because I didn't realise the idle time kept track of pms too.

I haven't seen a way to turn it off, but there may be one.
