AKK! No, I'm not talking that!
*cough*
It was 6p with 2 scum, I was one of them and it was night. I had noticed that many people were thinking of me as scum while he was just about completely town. I told my partner that if he sees the slightest sign of me being scummy that we turn to Bus me. He can easily ride it out afterwards.
So the day started, people started to accuse and I kept messing up and flinging passive scumtells-wasn't a good run for me that game- I was calm though since the plan WAS for me to be bussed if anything turned bad. The kicker, though, was when one person voted for a pretty much agreed on townie. I jumped to cast my vote on them to try to quicklynch, but the other pulled their vote before my partner could join in. What's more, I missed that unvote so I didn't notice, so for a while I was sitting there going in my head "partner! GET OVER HERE!"
Of course, that tipped everyone off, so 2 votes jumped on me quick as lightning. I decided, "meh, if I can't do this right, I can at least end this day fast so that no one tries to hunt. " So I barely answered questions, didn't bother to explain my vote, and eventually just went dead silent.
Everyone declared me scum. "#*)( you're scum for that Dakarian, stop voting for him!" "Scum! explain yourself" "Let's just lynch Dakarian."
But the third vote never showed up. Instead, they got into a town on town argument over who the OTHER scum is and dropped vote to argue with each other. Eventually, one person was accused, a town vote fell on them, my partner joined in to support, and I followed to hammer.
So no.. I don't "give up my games as town by acting scum." I play to win. When I'm town I do my best to win, whatever it takes. When I'm scum, I do my best to win, whatever it takes. Sometimes, that DOES involve sacrifice, though it's a gamble. However, I play for the game I'm in, not for some future game.
Sidenote: I pulled almost the same stunt as scum in the last Paranormal: planned to die in order to set the game up for my partners. I didn't do hyperscummy things, but I did do things that I wouldn't normally have done, like ignore most of the town (people keep assuming "no widescan = scum" so I gave them what they were looking for, no widescans, partially to keep the eyes on me and partially so I don't offer any leads) and choose Vig with no kills (though that worked for the best, since most of the other roles had doubled up on themselves, but Vig IS a popular scum fakeclaim).
Just seems that I can't BUY a lynch sometimes.
