When the crystal shattered, it opened a very peculiar temporal disturbance.
The Hunter had seen this only once before.
It's not the kind of thing you forget easily.
However, that time was completely different.
Then, he had been far away from it, observing from a distance.
Now, the Hunter was right next to it, and was pulled in by a massive force.
It was some time later when he awoke.
The surrounding were very different from the tower.
There were lots of trees.
In fact, the Hunter was in one of them.
After quickly climbing down, he took an inventory.
"Waterskin: check.
Flint & Steel: check.
Knife: check.
Swords: check.
Glowworm Lamp: check.
Rations: check.
Harmonica: check.
Money: gone. Probably dropped right before destroying the crystal.
Oh well, I doubt I'll need it anyway."
The Hunter quickly carved some runes into the tree.
Nobody else can read them, but they say "home base."
"First thing to do is set up shelter. These leafy poles in the ground should work nicely."
And the Hunter managed to get a nice lean-to set up by the home base tree with a raised platform for sleeping. He then built a small firepit, lit a fire, and started playing a tune, completely improvised.
The Hunter:
Clothes: leather vest and greaves, hooded cloak obscuring face, leather gloves extending to just before the elbow, dark purple leggings and shirt, snakeskin moccasins. No skin showing.
Weapons: obscured under the cloak are two swords, straight and double-edged. Very simple, spartan design. Short enough to be drawn from below (hilt is near hips, end of sheath near shoulders).
((Yeah, I'm going with the cloaked stranger archetype. There's a twist though, but you won't find out until the hood comes off. And it's magically enchanted to only come off when the wearer wants it to. It's also magically enchanted to be fireproof. And bulletproof (missile weapons in general really, there aren't guns where the Hunter comes from).))
