will the one responsible please step forth
« on: May 23, 2009, 10:45:52 am »

the 31104 branch for LCS is riddled with bugs, not as in developmental things, but the code itself won't compile due to the fact that the syntax is screwed up. I am a self taught developer, and I have not worked on this code till now, it is irritating that some people don't attempt to compile their changed code before they upload.
If you are going to upload to SVN I'd like to urge you to please check your code for syntax mistakes, eg. missing semicolons after each statement.
if this sounds bitchy and unreasonable to you make your argument now.

Works fine for me, with Wine and without.

I think his point is that it doesn't take that long to check for syntax errors, and that if you're contributing, don't make things messier - which sounds fair to me.

This was a mistake that should be rectified already. Have you tried the latest revision?

precisely my point, and for open source to work, people must ensure that their code works and take responsibility for their faulty additions.

yes I did, downloaded from the SVN today and used visual C++ to compile it, if you mean binary version, well I had that before.

Gah! It seems that while using the Visual C++ thing, it seems the interface only compiled, erm, some of the code, not all of the code.

It's going to take some time to repair the synatx errors.

Oooh, Visual C++, well, *that* would be the problem then.

Let me get this...erm...straight. So, it works on Linux/Wine, but not on Windows/Visual C++?

Hm. So assuming you are still talking about my code, it means that it works, just that it can't really be editable in Visual C++ until the errors are fixed, right?

I think it's just because Visual C++ is messed up... But it might be something else...

you aren't trying to compile a program then.
