The store in question is a family run bakery that just so happens to sell day-old stuff ultra-cheap. It's a day old, but it still tastes great. Too great.
Hm . . . me thinks they should spread their business, then! ;D

It's because contrary to popular belief, day old baked goods don't rot. Just stiffen a bit. Nothing that can't be solved with some heat.
