Dire wolves. Oh armok, the dire wolves.

So I generate a pocket world.
stops at year 30 in the age of demon and hydra. Cool.
So I spring up a party of swordsman/axeman/pikeman/hammerdwarf and go to kill some stuff.
Cyclops, no problem.
Giant actually tried to run away.

BUT OH ARMOK THE DIRE WOLVES.
4 armed warriors couldn't take down the pack.
Got darn close, but throats are so very easy to rip out.
And they ate the pikemans hands.

Yeah, the Dire Wolves...THEY INFEST THE WILDS TOO.

In a LARGE sized world, its nearly impossible to not encounter a pack of SEVEN, almost ALWAYS, of Dire Wolves every 1-2 forest tiles.

The things are FREAKING DASTARDLY.

Wolves are over powered methinks. A legendary can get his throat torn out from a pack of 'em.

I think they are overpowered, considering even with perfect strength, speed and toughness stats you can still get easily killed. Remove their ablity to latch and maybe bump that damage down a little and you have something more realistic. THat or switch gore to blunt damage.

I think the armour system needs (and already is by the next version) to be reworked. Softer materials shouldn't be able to break through harder materials, unless massive force is applied. E.g. a wolf's fangs shouldn't do you any damage at all as soon as you're wearing chainmail.

thats actually why I said blunt, since chances are you're wearing armor and the only thing they could do to an armored foe was bash you around

Well... they could always attack your weak point FOR MASSIVE DAMMAGE.

If the armor system is re-modeled like this, I am SO getting 40 iron scarves and 40 lead heart-cases.
