nah that is not a dissaster zone indicator unless you dont have magma on side note about my disaster zone indicator they got inside guns blazing and dead dwarves anywhere my survivor were one part pinned again a wall that was keeping the HFS at bay all champions dead well only one was claped in addamantine survived the other 2 got heroically killed in combat the other survivor group in the nuke the world button room soo now I declare my fortress a oficial disaster zone time to nuke the world and take the bastards whit me and realease the demons is they manage to survive

When you embark onto top of the chasm. With some dwarves on other side. Groups of monsters at chasm ends. The stranded dwarves pathing around chasm through those groups.

Usually a good series of stonefall traps will work, after you get your dorfs inside.

.....when a fire imp has managed to set fire to much of the map, killing several key dwarves early on, including your leader.

also.....when a fire imp has moved above your fortress and keeps nuking your dorfs and you can't fight back.
