Pump [CRIT_BOOST] to 50 and see what happens then.

I would have put it to 5, but I wasn't sure that it was a valid tag- nothing else goes beyond 2, to my knowledge.

Probably because critical hits aren't supposed to be common. It'll most likely work, and if not, well, it's not hard to fix.

Okay then, I set it to 5, haven't tried 'em out yet, though.

I put in Nicpon's Ancient Dwarven Fuck The World stone layer, and slag, which is effectively just melted metal from aforementioned Fuck The World maneuver. I made it appear as large clusters, and gave it a smelter reaction to give it a low chance of turning into a bar of pretty much any metal. I would've made it an ore of all those metals, but I was pretty sure it would have caused a Tetrahedrite-into-billon style bug which would be excessively exploitable. It turned out as even more exploitable: It doesn't actually require any slag to refine to make the bars.

Here are the additional entries I put in:

Another trapcomp, the beehive!

Ashstone, the new layer:

The various things I decided to put into it:

The slag reaction:

++EDIT++
Forgot to mention that I made petrified wood appear in it too, and does anyone know how to make a stone economic, other than making it an ore?

++++RE-EDIT++++

Y'know what? I'm just going to put ores in small clusters and single tiles in the slag, and not bother with all this reaction crap.

Unless someone comes up with another good idea, this is getting finished soon, and I reckon I might make a succession game with it.

Quake: I'm sure that's hilarious, but my 'puter has no sound at the moment- sys32 corrupted a few months ago, and I haven't found the disc with all my drivers on it.

I've been playing a fort on this mod, and I'm realy liking what's happening with the slag now: there are small amounts of useful metals, for some reason lots of tin, and tiny little flecks of gold and silver. Good for mandates, I must say.

Any further ideas, people?

CANNON TRAPS

failing that, prince of persia style wall-mounted blade traps, or spikes

You should be able to make jewels from mummified corpses using smelter reactions.

And you can't eat them, either, sadly. Even though it'd make sieges so much more fun; dwarves lining the walls, drooling and carrying sharp knives and forks, ready for the upcoming meals.

Sorry, LordBaxter, but I think the existing traps system covers the Prince of Persia and Cannon traps (substitute stonefall, same basic effect.) However, the idea of a trap dealing ridiculous bludgeon damage got me thinking, so now I'm going to add the Gargantuan Spring, the basic theory behind it being the spring is behind a section of floor, wall or cieling, and when tripped it flies out and crushes and/or flings the victim.

Varkarrus: Good idea. They were feeling a little useless as it was.

++EDIT++
Added what I said I was going to add.

HAY GUISE!

Guess what!

I uploaded the 'finished' version to the DFFD, though I'm having a sneaking suspicion that I forgot to add the Giant Spring.

Just put the link in the OP and this'll be good to go for the list on the top of this sub-forum.  It's a nice looking mod.

Many thanks, Lego. Editing now.

Done. Do I post it there myself, or do you?

Well, if profit doesn't notice it and put it there himself, or no one else does, just ask him to on the thread, with a link so he knows where to go.

hay guise.

I'm gonna update it sometime soon, and for new content, I want to:

-Actually put in the Giant Spring (=/)
-Mess with the language files- I want 'Carp' and 'Fuck' specifically, so I can make forts called 'Fear The Carp' and 'Fuck the World'. I need some help with these, though, I've never messed with the language files before.
-I want to make a wild creature a la the IED (Insane Elven diplomat, NOT Improvised Explosive Device- I just noticed that, lolendipity, much?) based off of Oldbeard in Jackrabbit's 'To Venture North, into Hell'.  I will add a bodypart called the 'senility' and new attacks for him to use-

'The Elderly Dwarf exasperates You with his Senility!'
'The Elderly Dwarf tells you a rambling story that goes nowhere! HE HAS LATCHED ON!'

This will be my first real experiment with the creature tags- the IED was largely copypasta.

Again, ideas are very welcome.

Give him an absurdly high damageblock, make him benign (so he only rambles on if you attack him first, or annoy him) and give him the ability to breathe fire (the pacemaker). Then make him a megabeast (because a fortress of dwarfs cowering at his approach is hilarious). That's an accurate portrayal!
