Zombie GCS
« on: May 21, 2009, 07:58:22 am »

I has one.

I noticed that Zombie creatures give off small gouts of Miasma every now and then, and then i noticed some Giant Cave Spider Silk Webs in my bottomless pit, and then i noticed some Miasma was occasionally appearing in an apparantly empty square.

Thoughts?

That kind of deductive reasoning is undorfy!
You kow what you have to do.
You have three options:
A)Send the most well liked dwarf in your fortress it to see if it(they) is edible.
B)Build a box around the whole area.
C)RELEASE THE CATS!

Thoughts?

Mod them to be breedable.
Mod them to be trainable.
Capture, tame, and train them.
Invite the gobbos over for tea.

Modding zombies like that would require intricate knowledge of the game code, as zombie animals aren't stored in the raws.
Anyway, miasma often appears inside bottomless pits from dying chasm creatures, are you sure it wasn't their fault?

He did say it was single squares of Miasma, hinting at zombies. For some reason even the tiniest bugs can cause huge clouds of poisonous gas but a huge rotten zombie whale only produces one square of miasma until he dies.

RUN.

RUN AND NEVER FUCKING LOOK BACK.
This.
Seal off that chasm with 3 tile thick walls and a river of magma.
And have it constantly guarded. And have a gate that looks like a skull with magma eyes.
That's the only thing that can do a monster of that magnitude justice.

Capture the ZGCS. It should be somewhat easier since it's a zombie and it moves slooowly. Although be sure to protect your dwaves' brains.
