Their would be some problems:

1.Where would you get all the magma?
2.You can't create the mold outside of you area, so even with infinity magma you would have to unpause thousand of times to sit through all of the cave-in messages from obsidian being formed diagonally and immediatly collapsing.
3. I think levels don't work yet in adventure mode, but I could be wrong.

1) River-driven screwpumps pumping magma from a pipe to a grand reservoir.
2) It's time consuming, needlessly complicated, and doesn't help that much. Can you say "Dwarven"?
3) They do.

1. I've never seen or heard from a magma pipe in an ocean, how would you drain the ocean and pump loads of magma back up without modding for more recources (wood, stone, bauxite, food, beverages etc.)

Well, what you do is besides leapfrogging the magma, you set it up to your adventurer pulls levers to pump water to either side of the magma flow, making freeform obsidian to cover the distance between world tiles in your 1x16 forts and fill the next step through that rough channel.

Would you actually get collapse messages in adventure mode?

Every single step is a pause, so it would probably show up in the combat log.

I just got an idea, but I need to know something; Are all bodies of water at the same z level, or do they vary, because if so, couldn't you say, channel a river/lake to flood a valley, then perhaps build a dam or river. Heck, you could build the bridge on solid ground, then flood the entire region.

wait a minute, of course there are bodies of water at different elevations, if not at least streams and brooks...

Damn, I am sorry, I really thought I had posted the worldgen info. That was months ago, before I took a long break from dwarfing.

Again, sorry to let you guys down. :(
