"So much for "half the game missing"."

That part was a rumor.

Started by EA, making it fact. Which then turned out to be a fabrication.

I don't like DRM

Last news was that there isn't any DRM beyond Online checking which isn't required to play and a file called GL that has some lines.

The Microtranslactions however is 100% real and they have these objects before the game is even done. Though it isn't bad as some other games such as Ultimate Aliance or Beautiful Katamari (Or basically Console games) where they lock half your disk away from you.

It's an identical DRM technique to Spore, Mass Effect, et al. It checks for emulation software, checks the disk for appropriately written bad sectors, and then phones home to make sure your CD Key is legitimate.

Installs a secret file on your computer, your required to authenticate in order to play, Install limit, weakened hardware security, breaks your disk drive, slows down your computer?

Phoning home isn't what people complained about. Though that isn't DRM in it of itself that would be called Spyware :D which Neverwinter Nights 2 did.

Though since people suggest firewalling The Sims 3 Pirated version I assume it also stops you from playing illegal versions.

Though there is nothing wrong with it so far to make someone not play it on that basis.

Well it is using Securom 7 (source: the warez groups who had to bypass said securom, gamecopyworld, and assorted others), so the installing a secret file on your computer, weakened hardware security, breaks your hard drives, slows down your computer part is very likely to be true..

Well that would mean EA downright lied through their teeth which is why I have to put a "I am not sure who is telling the truth here" blocker up. I am even getting mixed information from OTHER pirates who "Bypassed" its protection without touching the files.

Mostly because

1) I know people will say just about anything in order to defame EA.

2) I know EA will do just about anything to make an extra bit of cash even at the expense of the customer.

So the problem is that both make perfect sense. I'll probably find out once The Sims 3 comes out who was telling the truth. (though they both could be lying)

AFAIK, It came with Securom 7, yes.
I could check to see if it's actually true, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Well in Aristotle's defense there was a philosopher who thought it was the shape of objects that allowed them to float.

I think you meant that as the other philosopher was being stupid. Just wanted to check before I say this, but technically he is almost correct. Objects with a shape that has a larger surface area do float better.

Hey, I've sat in a (seaworthy) boat made of concrete.  I don't see anything wrong with that assertion.

Except under the philosopher a Square peice of Wood or Ice couldn't possibly float.

"Objects with a shape that has a larger surface area"

I think you mean larger surface area per material area. Though that doesn't hold up everywhere as a flat sheet of metal may sink but a metal sheet boat can have the ability to float.

Hello Mr. Aristotle.
Meh, not everything needs to be empirically tested to be asserted.
