I was kidding about the Legendary Throwing, as amusing as it would be to blow up animals with pebbles.

Can we all carry axes, as well?  Or would that slow us down?

Tell the two cavement to stick around camp and make axes.
Go foraging for plant life, reeds and food, (though keep an eye out for animals).  Or can we only gather one at a time?  If so, reeds are the primary goal.

The two cavemen quickly understanding they had just been enlisted as your followers, scrambled to obey you. You order them to construct some axes for your planned clear cutting operation, a task of crafting they both seem to be familiar with. As incentive for them to work faster, you promise them much hunting to be had in due time. And of course, we all know how much Cavemen enjoy hunting.

You then set off to find forage for materials, and perhaps some food should you come across some. What happens next can only be described as...entertaining.

After your...excellent adventure, you look at your gathered materials.

You decide to go back to the 'campsite', with your load with you.

You drop your load into 'neat' piles. Or you call them neat. At least the things happen to not be mixed up. You check your two companions progress and are pleased to find they had finished three axes, along with some extra spears. Unfortunately you notice its night time, and its no longer safe to leave the comfort of your fire-FIRE! FIRE GOING OUT! BAD BAD!

You quickly throw some pieces of wood onto the fire franticly, and it builds up again.

Settled again, you look upon your campsite, and companions. You call it a night, and all get some sleep by the comfort of your fire after eating some berries.

(If your wondering, I took the liberty of playing out several turns, the foraging taking up most of it, and just assigned the two other caveman to crafting according to what you were planning on doing. Don't expect anymore freebies though.)

Sweet.
You know, this isn't very complex, but it's oddly...satisfying, you know?

Set a caveman to chopping wood around the campsite, and have the other one go foraging with you.  Keeping an eye out for game, of course.  Maybe the other caveman can get his hunt on.

Hm. I personally think that you should have all three build a town centerchop wood for faster acquiration. One should look for the fire as well, chopping in immediate victinity.

No, no! It's night time, now we craft. We may not leave this area.
Have one chappy gather extra firewood. Maybe expand the fire a little (2 squares)
You and the other chappy will make traps for hunting, using reed rope and branches.

Women are attracted to huts. Fact. We can't build huts. Fact. Because we need skins. Fact. We shouldn't go hunting, because it is night-time. Opinion. We would be more successful hunting if we use traps. Probable.

Deciding to spend the latter part of the night at work, you wake up your two companions and decide that your campsite is far to dark. You set one caveman to creating two new fires, making the overall spread of warmth and light better. Your campsite is now a good place to work at in the dark. You have that one caveman gather fire wood and overall tend the three fires.

You and the other caveman set to work on making some simple traps, but you are only able to make one kind with your current supplies and method, which will only catch small animals. They are crafted very quickly, so you end up with a nice amount.

(Traps can be set and spread out across an area. There's a 1 in 2 chance there will be an animal stuck in one after a day. If you set the traps across a very large area it will take many standard actions to check the traps. If you do it over only a one area away spanning, in any direction, it will only take half a turn. You won't have enough standard actions to craft that turn, but you will be able to take advantage of this method to leave the campsite, and come back in the same turn.)

It is now closer to dawn.

What do you want to do?

Of course. A generally predatory animal in nature with out the domestic characteristics of a dog is the choice of a caveman.

On the bright side, at the end of THAT particular misadventure, you would either have food and animal hide and a good tale, or one less mouth to feed...PERHAPS YOURS.

So, step 1: Two friends sleep.
Step 2: One friend sleep, you sleep
Step 3: other friend sleep, you sleep.
