In the beginning...
Woah, woah, woah. Where did all these trees come from?! And why am I huddled so close to this fire?! AND WHY DO I HAVE THE FEELING THAT I'M...I'M...
That's right folks. Your in a Caveman Adventure. In prehistoric times, where all logic just got smacked around by yours truly. There's saber tooth tigers, AND Dinosaurs. And of course its your duty as good forum goers to either mess everything up, or guide our Caveman friend to a...well, we'll find out what we'll guide him to, now won't we?
Rules:
Crafting: Crafting plays a big part in this game, mostly because its almost the only way to get any items. Your going to have to do it at some point, whether its making a shelter, or making a spear. The bigger the project the longer it'll take to finish. And with the next item on our list, you'll understand why normal items like clothing and weapons need to either be replaced or repaired as often as you can.
Durability: Things can get damaged, or can be overused, so if you have a spear, it could suddenly break while your fighting one of those dern sabertooths. Or a Dire Wolf! So its always a good idea to have a back up on hand. But not to many mind you, because-
Weight: You can only carry so many items at a time, if you go over the limit, your limiting in what you can do at one time.
Weapons:
There are only a few weapons in this game, for simplicities sake. Contains craft information. Some items, like spears, which only need a wooden shaft, and a piece of flint to make, can be constructed almost anywhere, and don't take a lot of time to make. Other items are trickier, and you can't always find the item you need. This will pertain to protection more. Some items can use other material that you have to obtain in other ways then just searching the area, which will make it more damaging. This mostly just means you can make bone weapons.
Spear: The common Caveman's tool for hunting. It can also be a deadly weapon in a fight, but not something to trust in lasting long. They are light enough for you to carry a spare.
Knife: A simple utility tool, but can also be handy in a fight, though a even a simple club would be better. A knife is needed to skin animals and craft clothing. Can be made from rock or bone.
Axe: Can be made using a sharp flint haft. Good for hacking and chopping.
Club: The simplest and easiest weapon you can make. Its just a big piece of wood, good for...clubbing.
Protection: There are a few ways to protect yourself, not just from claws or spear heads, but also the coming winters cold. It will be a primary concern to have warm clothing before then. You can also make simple shields!
Animal Hide clothing: The most basic protection, its easy to make as long as you have enough hide and time. Provides basic warmth and decent protection.
Furred Animal hide: If you use a hide that has more fur, it will provide great warmth protection, better then regular animal hide. It isn't as hardy though, and loses durability faster when hit.
Shield: It can be made using mostly wood and animal hide, which would be the greatest protection you could have, as it has a high durability, but it takes a long time to make. You can also make a reed shield, which also offers a bit of protection, and takes less time to make.
Wounds: There are three kind of wounds.
Minor: This will only damage your HP, and has no effects other than that.
Major: Damages your HP more, and has a chance to cause bleeding.
Critical: Large amounts of damage, and always causes bleeding.
Your average caveman is hardier than...the average person, so he can take plenty of knocks. But he isn't indestructible. If he dies, GAME OVER.
Shelter: Shelter is needed to sleep, which allows you to gain back HP, and of course passes the time. It will be another primary concern as winter draws near.
Makeshift: Makeshift shelter can either be caves, or barely worthy of standing piles of wood and leaves. Offers the least protection
Tents: Takes alot of animal hide and takes a long time to make, but its mobile, and it offers decent warmth.
Hut: Takes the most time to make, but its also the warmest, offers the most protection from the elements, and is the most secure. It also takes large amounts of wood and large amounts of time to make. It isn't mobile.
All subject to change depending on whim or suggestion.
