Accidental Sculptures
« on: May 18, 2009, 07:47:04 pm »

Normal people create sculptures on purpose in this game.  I...do that too, but the results usually leave much to be desired.  My best results have been stuff I've created by accident.

What 'accidental' sculptures have folks made, or geographic features taken advantage of to make into things?

Completely natural rock formation on my current fort:

I call it the Finger of Armok.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Also, your images don't always show up. I think it's a problem with your image host. Might I recommend these popular hosts (in order of personal preference):

That gives me an idea!

Wait, on second thoughts, bridges don't show up in 3Dwarf, right? Darn it.

I was planning a pop-up finger of Armok made of bridges. That would, naturally send things flying when it popped.

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then you kill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.

It's my site, its under intermittent prodding from some TCP attack.  I prefer it to imageshack, etc since I know my own server won't suddenly hate me for no reason or overlimit or randomly delete crap.  I've reset the web server again, that should help.

I made a fairly nice noble house layout once. Then i noticed it greatly resembles an upside down skull. So i made another one directly opposite and made them homes for my champions instead while telling the nobles they were now co-owners of the communual barracks.

Aww, I was going to start a pareidolia thread :P

Anyway, this is a completely natural formation. I had just chipped out 2, maybe 3, tiles that were sticking out from the top of the "arch" in the upper right (and, obviously, had begun tunneling in there).

Once I was designing a fort and suddenly thought: "Wait! Fuck, that looks like a penis." I now design only asymmetric forts.

I designed myself a really simple bedrooms plan once and after carving it out realised that it contained the swastika symbol, always amusing to explain to anyone who saw me playing. Then again its not seen as a bad symbol everywhere in the world.
