Am I the only one who thinks that Dwarf Fortress should be gicen graphics like this?

Meh, I'll worry about spending CPU cycles on graphics when we get the pathfinding down to more reasonable consumption.

Personally I prefer the flat types of surfaces when playing ASCII art games.

Oh, Tower.  I played that for a month or so, a couple of years ago.  It wasn't balanced, and it wasn't deep.  Very much a dungeon-crawl type roguelike.

I remember hanging out on one level so long that a shopkeeper died of starvation.  And the shop logic was a bit buggy -- even though he was dead, he would still offer to buy items.

Not a bad little game.  A bit too ambitious, and the only thing it offered that other games didn't was the 3-D graphical view.
