Alright, if I screw this up, disregard it entirely.
The beginning of summer was an exitable time for the colony known as Bay12. No traders came in, as the colony was still considered too fresh to be worth sending expeditions to. In the third week however, a boat arrived with some truly intresting cargo...

"So... the leaders have redoubled their entreaties?" Toady gripped the edge of his chair. Well, to put it accurately, it was a log stump, brought in as refuse by one of the woodcutters, but it served as a makeshift chair quite nicely. He tapped idly at the floor with a foot, considering the Dwarf standing before him.
"We're perfectly willin' to give you the top-most trading priority." Short and astute, the dwarf from Astux'bur barely reached Toady's arm while gestuing into the air, even though Toady was seated. He made for a comical character, ludicrously gesturing as if to emphasize his point. He formed a circle with his fingers.
"Our best merchants, the best deals we can possibly give... if you choose us, thats to say." He brought his hand down, to bring the point across. Toady was unimpressed, the Dwarves were known to be rather lacklustre traders compared to the Humans, and indeed they rarely brought anything of worth to feldgling posts. No, what had Toady in a bind was the manpower the deal provided.
Whatever else they were, Dwarves were most definitely efficient, effective, if bothersome and fickle workers. And alligning himself to the Dwarves all but assured that skilled and able Dwarves would come to the colony, attracted by fresh oppertunity and the chance to strike it rich. Their skill in mining and metalworking were renowned, and it could serve the colony to have some on hand...
But that was only if he allied himself with the Dwarves. But that would put them at odds with the native Goblins.
"I need to think." Toady drew himself up, streched, and walked out of the hall.
Outside, a small group of dwarves, four or so stood, and judging by their similar statures and beard-styles, they were of one familiy. Three men, who seemed to be brothers, and a woman, who was probably married to one of the men. The men had a stupid gait that suggested they were no better than peasants, sutied only for menial labor. The woman on the other hand...
He could tell from her eyes, quizzical in nature, and tha fact that she carried surveying equipment in her belt, that she was a building designer, a rare and useful talent in any clony such as this. If they could secure her, she would eb a valuable asset to their colony... but she had made it clear that she would only join if the treaty with Astux'bur was made. Toady stood still for a while, thinking...
Back in the town hall, the liason was pacing about the stump on the floor when he looked up at Toady, who strode in with a sense of determination in the air about him.
"You've got yourself a deal."

Word spread quickly of the alliance with the dwarves. The designer, her name being "Ill Doubleone", translated to rough human, instantly began a set of projects, including expansions to the docks in preperation for merchant ships, and a warehouse in which to cache various raw material, uncluding the recent harvest. But word also spread to the surrounding countryside... where the Goblins brooded...
Population: 29 ( 16 Farmers, 7 Labourers, Toady, Ill Doubleone)
Families: 5 ( 4 Farmers, 2 Labourers)
Heroes:
Leader
Special:
Architect
Buildings:
6 Shacks?
Town Hall
Very crude docks
Incomplete warehouse
Trade resources:
Native crafts (10) (Value: To natives: 1 To old world: 5 To collectors: 10)
Native cloth (5) (Value: To natives: 2 To old world: 4) (Can make clothing)
Spices (3) (Value: To natives: 4 To old world: 12)
Prickle Berries (20) (Value: To natives: 0 To old world: 2)
And thats it. I recommend we expand the docks and warehouse, and start some kind of industry, like masonry or carpentry, and get some wall or such up, now that I've pissed off the Golbins.
