Hmph. It's better than nothing. I suppose.
As I understand it:
Buildings: Dock. Part of granary/warehouse
Population gain: 1 dwarven family (miners) 1 elven family (miners)
Ok, right.
I would like to have that amended that with the added action that the miners actually do something. Survey the mountain and find a vein of iron, or something.
All in favour say aye, or somesuch.

Aye.

But they won't be able to really start an mining operation until the next turn, or turn after; they were blinded when they struck microcline.  ;D
And it should be slow work, since we've only got a couple miners.

The dwarven economy is just a stand-in, from what I understand. As it is, it represents an actual economic system about as well as poison ivy represents a salad.

I didn't mention this explicitly, but I assumed the colonists would build two shacks to house new population, and the pirates left three barrels of rum.

Suggestions:
1)Finish the damn warehouse/granary already; it's not that much work
2)Bust a vein (of iron)
3)Dwarven traders (buy native goods/booze, sell high quality tools)
4)Immigrants: Dwarven workers
     4.5)Of which one metalworker (special chappy)
              4.5a)Build a forge
5)Immigrants: human refugees.

Pick and mix. I' take them all and not call it overpowered; assuming we arrived on the first day of the year (a la DF) it is now high summer and people are busy busy busy.

On my turn, the colonists were too busy fixing the gunboat and building the dry dock to work on the warehouse.  But, yeah, that should get done next turn.

Good suggestions, here's what I'd add:

We have goblin brewers, so what we really need are some Elven? farmers so we can get an honest Rum business brewing.
