Starting up this topic to discuss future "Let's Play!" games.  Specifically, I'm curious which game I'll attempt, but checking out the "Let's Play Pirates" shows that others might want to discuss their future plans.

EDIT: By the way, could somebody point me to a free image capture device?

I've been seeing lots of LPs doing humor, while the three LPs that I am doing right now aren't exactly...humorous. What should I do? Try to make them more funny, or is the current serious style alright?

Sorry, not yet.  Need an image capture program.
EDIT: DosBox has a built-in image capture device, so I'm gonna (*) the ones I'd play with that program.

Here's the games from which I'm interested in LP (in no particular order):

*Roadwars--Strategy/Simulation: Lead a Road Gang to rescue scientist in a Post-Apocalypse North America

*Roadwars: Europa--Strategy/Simulation: Similar to Roadwars, but you can create your starting Road Gang, and you're trying to defuse bombs in Post-Apocalypse Europe

*Scavengers of the Mutant World--RPG: On many "Top 20 Worst Games Ever" lists, you send a team of scavengers, selected from 12 rename-able scavengers, to find parts to make a car, or something.

GearHead---RPG: Traverse Post-Apocalypse Asia in a Mecha, trying to unravel the randomly-generated misteries.

GearHead 2---RPG/Strategy: Either travel from spacestation to spacestation in a Mecha fighting the randomly-generated foe, or lead a team in the Arena for cash and glory.

Imperialism---Turn-Based Strategy: Lead your Industrial-Era country to dominance!

Imperialism 2---Turn-Based Strategy: Lead your Colonization-Era country to dominance of the Old World by exploiting the New World!

UFO: Enemy Unknown---Squad-Based Strategy: Do I really need to explain?  Anyways, lead a team of special forces agents to fight off the invading aliens, and eventually take over their bases, culimnating in destroying their HQ.

*Darklands---RPG/Adventure: Lead a team of 4 adventurers over 1400's Germany in search of Fame!  Fight bandits, demons, witches, and so forth. (Been done already, but could probably be done again)

*Paybacktime 2---Squad-Based Strategy: Build a team to fight other teams!

What looks good?  What needs explaining?

I read the strategy guide for Imperialism 2, so it sounds nice.

That's a good one!  It also ties in to all the LP Civilization, LP Pirates, and LP Colonization (especially the last one).

Read over your three LP, and they seem fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you got:

LP Tropico, with lots of audience interaction, where you lose.  Losing is fun, especially when you watch somebody else do it.  Tropico itself lends a lot of dark humor, so it's really good.

LP Balance of Power 1990: A game with the Cold War and Nukes.  Sure, you can't use them, but it's still a fun setting.  Again, lots of audience interaction, so it looks good.

LP Oasis: Right now, you're trying to explain stuff.  The subtle puns on Egyptian Mythology can come later (Where's our cat god?  You left the door open again!).

*LP General, which I didn't complete yet, but in the process of winning.
*LP Conflict, the first LP on this forum. Also haven't completed yet.

I didn't count Balance of Power as a LP because it's supposed to be multiplayer, and LP Tropico was meant to get Sniper Joe to play Tropico...and he didn't. /me shrugs

Tempted to start an LP also, main issue is I probably would fizzle out the moment I got tired with the game (which happens after like 2 weeks of playing)

Also X3 Reunion or Sword of the Stars would be good games for one.

Someone did this, though it came to a sudden halt because he had computer problems or something.

Thanks for pointing that out.  For the sake of newness, I'll cross that off the list for now, unless somebody wants me to lead another group of adventurers.

Also, I'm playing Empire Earth, and came to the conclusion I don't want to LP that game.  And, I'll probably uninstall it soon.  Real-Time isn't my thing.

Good News: I found some funny games that are, well funny. I can LP them.

Bad News:
1) I disagree with the political agendas inherent in these funny games. These funny games are trying to promote a political ideology I disagree with. I am afarid that my disagreement with their political agendas might eventually lead to me ranting about politics, and you know how that's going to be bad.
2) I can't save during these games, so this is not good. I may have to play all in one sitting...

Any tips?
