Hmm...got Hidden Agenda working, turns out I'm not as bad at it as I used to be. Or I just got lucky.
First time, I lasted about three years, no coups, lost the election. Had a really bad insurgency, though, which was funded by the CIA. The communist guy won after me, but at least I survived.
Second (current) time, I'm I've fought off two (communist) coups, but my chances in the election look good. This version of the new constitution has strict term limits, though. Managed to get a lot more development aid and I think standard of living has raised, but I'm having a huge problem with death squads, and my military doesn't seem to be able to stop them. I'd sack my Defense minister, but I don't have any good replacements.
Hidden Agenda might be good for a Let's Play, but maybe not as good as Conflict: MEPS. You appoint a cabinet of Defense, Agriculture, Interior, and Exterior ministers, and then they each have a choice of three issues they want to discuss. You can take their advice, or you can take the advice of one of your other ministers. Occasionally, you'll have a major event, like protests or something, and you have to deal with it, either accepting the protester's position, or the related advisor's position. You get nine of these a season, and three (or four) seasons a year.
Problem is, you can't really save when it comes time to make a decision, so I think the LP would have to be pretty fast paced, or not be able to take much forum input.
Is there some kinda save state function in DOSBox?
