Just for funsies, I've started uploading the old server maps to my profile.

The stupid huge one that eventually hit the complexity limit, with the stalactite city and the Temple of Modesty, among many other varied wonders.

EDIT: Apparently it won't work. This makes me deeply sad.

EVEN MORE EDIT THAN THAT: So I uploaded it to mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?zwmwojyzzf0

MORE EDIT: But the other two DO work.

The original server, what with the very first Bay 12 ship and my first annoyingly ego-centric contribution.

EVEN MORE EDIT: There is a profound sense of innocence on this level; all the more profound because it is utterly lost in the later incarnations of the server. Here, Minecraft was exploration, cooperation, peace and a sort of aesthetic beauty; now, size, violence, competition are its hallmarks. I have written a haiku.

Strange machinations
Battle beneath great shadows
Childhood forgotten

Everyone's favorite, apparently, what with Reasonablecorp, the Great Gaudy Golden Guardian, and all sorts of cool stuff.

EVEN MORE EDIT THAN I WAS AWARE WAS POSSIBLE:

The past slips away
Though a terrible cliche'
Imperfections shrink

Addition to spaceport war: A Darkwalker like-thing infested with a cthulian zerg like thing, hurling infection onto the battlefield!

Also, what are those yellow things drinking the fuel? Angry Marines?

I just build a science joke on the map

anyone with a chemistry degree should get the joke as soon as they spot it

That formula makes no sense. At all.

That's because it's not a formula. Chemistry has VERY complex systems for naming chemicals. tricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]decane is a name.

I love playing around in the /indev version.  Underground gardens lit by lava and torches are awesome.

Also, when playing on a floating deep map, you can create giant towers of obsidian by pouring down lava and water from an island above.
Just find or dig a straight edge above another island and put 1 lava spawn block, 1 water spawn block and another lava spawn block down next to each other with a block in between them, so you get 3 thin streams pouring over the edge.
The resulting mayhem will form layer after layer of gray rock all the way up to the top, riddled with pools of lava and water.

Spelunky terrain theme. Test it out. Porting the tiles directly looks terrible so I took some liberties with them and made something that one could use everyday. Do note I don't claim to be a pixel artist, and as such some modifications might be a little odd-looking.
Still, releasing it here before the Minecraft forums.

All credit for the original tiles goes to Derek Yu, as they are based on his game Spelunky.

Due to inactivity, I'm considering shutting down the server. The save'll be uploaded like the others, although I can't guarantee it will work. Perhaps then I'll just wait for the next update to restart the server.

Well here's the upload of the last server: What with the battlefield and spaceport and floating isle start point and all.

I shan't be hosting again until a new release is finalized, I'm afraid.
